The Doctor attempts to repair the circuit in " Logopolis " and " Attack of the Cybermen ", but the successful transformation of the TARDIS into the shapes of a pipe organ, a painted Welsh dresser ( much to the amusement of Perpurgilliam " Peri " Brown and the Sixth Doctor's annoyance ) and an elaborate gateway in the latter serial was followed by a return to the police box shape.

* In the Doctor Who spin-off novel State of Change, the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown meet and befriend an alternate version of Ptolmey in a timeline where Cleopatra and Anthony survived thanks to them acquiring a copy of the Doctor's TARDIS console, using the information in its databanks to develop modern technology and weapons centuries ahead of schedule.

The Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown witness the phenomenon when they arrive in Killingworth looking for the cause of some sort of time distortion, and he also notices one of the rampaging miners has a strange red mark on his neck.

The unnamed protagonist ( listed in the credits as " The Stranger ") was played by Colin Baker, his assistant Miss Brown by Nicola Bryant, who had played the Doctor's assistant Peri Brown opposite Colin Baker for two years, and the villain of the piece by Michael Wisher, who had been the first actor to play Davros.

When he first came on board the TARDIS, the Sixth Doctor was travelling alone, but in Kane's Story ( DWM # 104 ), the Sixth Doctor's television companion Peri Brown returned, apparently placing Frobisher's stories between the unmade Season 23 and The Trial of a Time Lord ( indicated by Peri's changing hairstyles in the comic strip compared to her television appearances ).

There, a grateful Inquisitor drops the charges against him and reveals that Peri Brown survived the events on Thoros Beta and became Yrcanos's queen.

Somewhere else, the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown are on a peaceful fishing trip.

This was also true for the American character Peri Brown ( in an attempt to endear the show more to the US ).

Peri Brown, full name Perpugilliam Brown, is a fictional character played by Nicola Bryant in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who.

Though Peri Brown was the first American character to travel with the Doctor, she was played by British actress Nicola Bryant.

Bryant played the role of " Miss Brown " in the first three installments of the BBV video series The Stranger, opposite Colin Baker as the Stranger ; although the character is never explicitly identified as being Peri ( much as the Stranger was never directly linked to the Doctor ) there are nonetheless similarities in the two characters, with one major difference: Bryant uses her natural English accent for Miss Brown rather than affecting an American one as she did with Peri.

In Attack of the Cybermen, Peri tells the Sixth Doctor he has called her " Tegan " among other names.

Peri has, in fact, survived, presumably recovered from Kiv's transplant ( if it ever actually occurred ), and married King Yrcanos of Thoros Alpha, a warrior king who had assisted the Doctor and Peri during the Mindwarp incident.

In the Marvel Comics graphic novel The Age of Chaos, written by Colin Baker, Peri lives out her life on Krontep as Yrcanos's Queen and has at least three grandchildren, who are principal characters in the story.

Peri lists a number of problems the Doctor has caused since they left Telos.

The Sixth Doctor and Peri attend a conference of lexicographers at a college where an unfortunate murder has occurred.

The clever Maylin greets the Doctor and Peri as favoured guests, but the Doctor is suspicious of a Karfelon society that has made huge scientific leaps in a short space of time and that does not permit mirrors.

When the Doctor refuses to venture into the Timelash again, Tekker explains that Peri has been taken hostage to ensure his co-operation in retrieving the amulet.

In the Rostam and Sohrab section of the poem, Rostam's paramour, the princess Tahmina, is referred to as " Peri-faced " ( since she is wearing a veil, the term Peri may include a secondary meaning of disguise or being hidden ).
