Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto in particular focused on the ' purpose of creation ' and how the will of God was to bring creation into perfection and adhesion with this upper force.

Among the many volumes of the holy Rabbi Yitzchak Luria ( known as the " Ari "), most of which come downfrom the pen of his primary disciple, Rabbi Chaim Vital, are profound insights explaining issues related to reincarnation.

Rabbi Chaim Volozhin ( Lithuania 1749 – 1821 ) reports in an introduction to Siphra Dzeniouta ( 1818 ) that he once presented to his teacher, the Vilna Gaon, ten different versions of a certain passage in the Sefer Yetzira and asked the Gaon to determine the correct text.

Peres ' grandfather, Rabbi Zvi Meltzer, a grandson of Rabbi Chaim Volozhin, had a great impact on his life.

When Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Leib refused to accept this position, most of the Hasidim became followers of the elderly Hasid, Rabbi Chanokh Heynekh HaKohen Levin, formerly rabbi of Prushnits and Krushnevits and now retired to Alexander.

There is a further Chief Rabbi Ariel Levin.

It was also the location where Rabbi Chanokh Heynekh HaKohen Levin, the second Rebbe of the Ger Hasidim held court until his death in Aleksandrów in 1870.

The event included a seminar with historian Hans Coppi, Jr. an expert on the Red Orchestra whose parents were members and were executed by the Gestapo, Natalia Narochnitskaya Ph. D, Prof., a doctor of historical science, an expert on international relations around WW1 and WW2, and a prominent public figure in Russia, Rabbi Avil Tawil, Director of the European Jewish Community Centre in Brussels, and Lital Levin, an Israeli journalist and relative of Leopold Trepper.

The Lehi, in particular their members in prison, were encouraged in their struggle by Rabbi Aryeh Levin a greatly respected Jewish sage of the time.

He befriended the famous Rabbi Aryeh Levin of Jerusalem, known as " Father of the Prisoners ".

He refused that position, and leadership of the Hasidim went to Rabbi Chanokh Heynekh HaKohen Levin of Aleksander.

He was accompanied on this trip by Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter ( the Imrei Emes ), Rabbi Hirsh Heynekh Lewin, and Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Levin.

At the suggestion of Chief Rabbi of Palestine, Abraham Isaac Kook, Elyashiv married Sheina Chaya ( d. June 19, 1994 ), a daughter of Rabbi Aryeh Levin.

Hamodia was founded in 1950 by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin, son of the Agudat Israel leader Rabbi Yitzhak-Meir Levin of Warsaw and Jerusalem.

He studied Gemara under the guidance of Rabbi Reuven Gotfreud, the son-in-law of Rabbi Yoel Moshe Salomon, the founder of Petakh Tiqwa, then under R. Moshe Zeidel and Benjamin Levin, however his main teacher remained his father throughout his life.

Rabbi Weiss is also notable for his ordination of Sara Hurwitz, which was strongly condemned by the Haredi Agudath Yisrael ( which called it non-Orthodox ), and also firmly rejected by the Modern Orthodox Rabbinical Council of America.

He also has collaborated with other scholars to produce comparisons of Judaism and Christianity, as in The Bible and Us: A Priest and A Rabbi Read Scripture Together ( New York 1990 ; translated into Spanish and Portuguese ).

Mosheh ben Maimon ( משה בן מימון )‎, called Moses Maimonides and also known as Mūsā ibn Maymūn (), or RaMBaM ( רמב " ם – Hebrew acronym for " Rabbi Mosheh Ben Maimon "), was a preeminent medieval Jewish philosopher and one of the most prolific and followed Torah scholars and physicians of the Middle Ages.

One must also note that in addition to redacting the Mishnah, Rabbi and his court also ruled on which opinions should be followed, though the rulings do not always appear in the text.

There are also references to the " Mishnah of Rabbi Akiva ", though this may simply mean his teachings in general.

When Rabbi Yaakov died in 1064, Rashi continued learning in Worms for another year in the yeshiva of his relative, Rabbi Isaac ben Eliezer Halevi, who was also chief rabbi of Worms.

Rashi's students, Rabbi Shemaya and Rabbi Yosef, edited the final commentary on the Torah ; some of their own notes and additions also made their way into the version we have today.
