Revelation, along with the bands it put out in the late 1980s, is usually credited with creating and cementing the " youth crew " sound as well as New York hardcore, which bridged the gap from the earlier bands of almost a decade before and helped carry the music through the early 1990s.

In Revelation 9: 7-11, Abaddon is described as " The Destroyer ", the angel of the abyss, and as the king of a plague of locusts resembling horses with crowned human faces, women's hair, lions ' teeth, wings, and the tail of a scorpion that torment people for five months.
The symbolism of Revelation 9: 11 leaves the exact identification of Abaddon open for interpretation.
Eusebius ( c. 263 – 339 ) was inclined to class the Apocalypse with the accepted books but also listed it in the Antilegomena, with his own reservation for identification of John of Patmos with John the Apostle, pointing out there were large differences in Greek skill and styles between the Gospel of John, which he attributed to John the Apostle, and the Revelation.
