The Wakefield ancestry is traced back to John Wakefield, who was born about 1614, probably in Gravesend, County Kent, England and immigrated to Virginia aboard the " America " in June 1635, along with his brothers Richard Wakefield and Thomas Wakefield.

Robin ( Russell Crowe ) and his companions intend to return to England from France by boat to Gravesend, after they flee the army of King Richard I, at whose death in battle they were present as archers.

Her daughter, Dorothy ( born 1586-died 1615 in Gravesend, Kent, ENG ) married Sir Richard Devereaux Gilliam ( born 1583-died 1651 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA ), the elder son of Walter, Viscount Hereford of Herefordshire, England.

Richard Austin Freeman ( 11 April 1862 London – 28 September 1943 Gravesend ) — known as R. Austin Freeman — was a British writer of detective stories, mostly featuring the medico-legal forensic investigator Dr. Thorndyke.

Gail Platt married Richard Hillman ( Brian Capron ), a financial advisor, who would go on to leave Duggie Ferguson to die, murder his ex-wife Patricia, attempt to murder his mother-in-law, Audrey Roberts, murder Maxine Peacock and attempt to murder Emily Bishop.

Richard Lovelace's mother was also the daughter of Anne Sandys and the granddaughter of Cicely Wilford and the Most Reverend Dr. Edwin Sandys, an Anglican church leader who successively held the posts of the Bishop of Worcester ( 1559 – 1570 ), Bishop of London ( 1570 – 1576 ), and the Archbishop of York ( 1576 – 1588 ).

A 13th-century Bishop of Rochester wrote that Richard spent 33 years in purgatory as expiation for his sins, eventually ascending to Heaven in March 1232.

The appeals for help of the Bishop of Chartres, Joseaume, were answered by Robert, Marquis of Neustria, Richard, Duke of Burgundy and Manasses, Count of Dijon.

Winchester College was founded in 1382 by William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester and Chancellor to both Edward III and Richard II, and the first 70 poor scholars entered the school in 1394.

Meanwhile, King Richard returns to England disguised as a monk, but is recognized at an inn by the Bishop of the Black Canons after he overhears one of Richard's men call him " sire ".

However at Westminster the image of the divine kingship is supported by the Bishop of Carlisle rather than Richard, who at this point is becoming mentally unstable as his authority slips away.
