* 1962 – Rondane National Park is established as Norway's first national park.

Norway is now preparing to apply for nomination as a World Heritage Site for areas with traces and traditions of reindeer hunting in Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park, Reinheimen National Park and Rondane National Park in Central Sør-Norge ( Southern Norway ).

It is located between Rondane, which lies to its southeast, and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella on its northwest.

It is the site of the Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park, lies just north of Jotunheimen National Park and lies just west of Rondane National Park, so tourism and outdoor sports such as skiing are also important.

Kvam is located at the northern end of the Peer Gynt Road, which passes through high roads with excellent views of the Jotunheimen, Dovrefjell, and Rondane mountain.

Large parts of the very first national park in Norway, Rondane National Park is situated in the municipality of Sel and has its main entrances from the mountain villages of Høvringen and Mysuseter.

Rondane is a typical high mountain area, with large plateaus and a total of ten peaks above 2, 000 m ( 6, 560 ft ).

The highest point is Rondslottet (" The Rondane Castle ") at an altitude of 2, 178 m ( 7, 146 ft ).

Following the expansion, it is now only approximately 1 kilometre from the northern border of Rondane to the southern border of Dovre National Park, and large sections of adjacent mountain areas are protected by the three parks.

There are no fossils found in Rondane today and so it is thought the sea where the rock came from contained no animal life.

Rondane is one of the few places in Scandinavia and Europe where wild reindeer ( as opposed to the domestic breed ) are found.

It is estimated that approximately 2000 to 4000 reindeer live in Rondane and the nearby Dovre area.

In Rondane, there is a central cabin by the southern end of the lake Rondvatnet, Rondvassbu.

Probably the best-known work is Peer Gynt ( 1867 ), a play by Henrik Ibsen, which is partly set in Rondane:

A third writer who set one of his famous works in Rondane is the poet Aasmund Olavsson Vinje with his poem Ved Rundarne.

Belgica Mountains is an isolated chain of mountains about long, standing east-southeast of the Sor Rondane Mountains in Queen Maud Land, in the Antarctic.

The mountain chain swings eastwards south of Trondheim, with ranges such as Dovrefjell and Rondane, and reaches to the border with Sweden, where they are mostly gently sloping plateaus.

The Vågå municipality lies in a mountainous region just to the north of Norway's Jotunheimen National Park, west of Rondane National Park, and south of the Dovrefjell mountains.

The district stretches from the mountains of Rondane and in the east to Jotunheimen in the west.

That area comprises lowland parishes 200 m above sea-level and mountain parishes 800 m above sea-level, fertile soil in the main valley and barren summits in Rondane and Dovrefjell.

Rondane lies just to the east of Gudbrandsdal and two other mountain areas, Dovre and Jotunheimen are nearby.

Generally, Rondane does not receive enough precipitation to generate persistent glaciers, but glacier-like heaps of snow can be found in the flat back valleys.

Large climate changes allowed reindeer to spread widely across Scandinavia, only to be forced back to a much smaller area — including the Rondane mountain area — only some hundreds of years later.

After nearly a decade of planning, Rondane was established as the first Norwegian National Park on 21 December 1962.

Soon after, in 1955, community meetings were held in the municipalities close to Rondane, and a commission was founded.

Norman Heitkøtter was president of the commission, and made it possible by Royal resolution to establish Rondane National Park.

In many cases it is not possible to divide the process into a finite number of discrete stages, since the state of the stream is transformed in a continuous manner through the process.

It is the art of relating the finite to the infinite, of doing our best to insure that the particularistic requirements of religious institutions will not thwart God's intent of unity among men more than is minimally necessary.

More precisely, an algorithm is an effective method expressed as a finite list of well-defined instructions for calculating a function.

But humans can do something equally useful, in the case of certain enumerably infinite sets: They can give explicit instructions for determining the nth member of the set, for arbitrary finite n. Such instructions are to be given quite explicitly, in a form in which they could be followed by a computing machine, or by a human who is capable of carrying out only very elementary operations on symbols.

In many cases such a selection can be made without invoking the axiom of choice ; this is in particular the case if the number of bins is finite, or if a selection rule is available: a distinguishing property that happens to hold for exactly one object in each bin.

The statement of the axiom of choice does not specify whether the collection of nonempty sets is finite or infinite, and thus implies that every finite collection of nonempty sets has a choice function.

In that case it is equivalent to saying that if we have several ( a finite number of ) boxes, each containing at least one item, then we can choose exactly one item from each box.

The number of boxes is finite, so eventually our choice procedure comes to an end.

If the method is applied to an infinite sequence ( X < sub > i </ sub >: i ∈ ω ) of nonempty sets, a function is obtained at each finite stage, but there is no stage at which a choice function for the entire family is constructed, and no " limiting " choice function can be constructed, in general, in ZF without the axiom of choice.

Now it is easy to convince oneself that the set X could not possibly be measurable for any rotation-invariant countably additive finite measure on S. Hence one couldn't expect to find an algorithm to find a point in each orbit, without using the axiom of choice.

It differs from a digital signal, in which a continuous quantity is represented by a discrete function which can only take on one of a finite number of values.
