The classic distribution is Müller's version 2, containing a compiler for the Amiga, an interpreter, example programs, and a readme document.
Peter Clarke, Tim Follin and David Whittaker converted the music for the home computer ports ( some versions feature the ending sequence track for the title screen music, such as on the Commodore Amiga version by David Whittaker ).

For the Amiga, the AGA A1200 version with 256-colour graphics was available on 9 double-density floppy disks.
Shortly afterwards, a 64-colour Amiga 500 edition was created so that any Amiga could play it, and finally a CD32 version was released on CD with 256-colour graphics and voice acting.
This was the first Amiga adventure game to feature full voice acting, but only on the CD version.
The Amiga version of Simon the Sorcerer received generally high ratings.
The game was originally created by Andy Davidson as an entry for a Blitz BASIC programming competition run by the Amiga Format magazine, a cut-down version of the programming language having been covermounted previously.
It was also the last version released for the Commodore Amiga platform from which the game originated.
An Amiga version is available, although it has been discontinued and released as open source.
As a result, many Amiga games of this period were, in most cases, identical to the ST version.
Atari responded by releasing the Atari STE in 1989, an " enhanced " version of the ST to match the specification of the Amiga 500 by adding a blitter, more colors and DMA driven digital audio.
It was heavily hyped upon its initial release, including being bundled with the newly launched Amiga 1200, although not the AGA version with enhanced graphics which followed later.
The Amiga CD32 version has original red book audio tracks by Neil Biggin and has the option to have both sound effects and music.
This and the Acorn Archimedes port are the only two incarnations of the original Amiga version to have this.
Reviews for the Amiga version of the game were mostly very positive, including 97 % in Amiga Computing, 95 % in Amiga Format, 91 % in CU Amiga and 90 % in Amiga Power.
The Lost Vikings was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, then subsequently released for the Amiga, Amiga CD32, MS-DOS, and Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis systems the next year ; the Mega Drive / Genesis version contains five stages not present in any other version of the game.
