In a Spin magazine article written about the genre, Steven Blush declares that " the man often credited " for dubbing the style grindcore was Shane Embury, Napalm Death's bassist since 1987.

He has fronted Hide, The Crown, Disfear, Skitsystem and the grindcore supergroup Lock Up, in which he performed alongside Napalm Death members Shane Embury ( bass ) and Jesse Pintado ( guitar ) and former Dimmu Borgir drummer, Nicholas Barker.

During the 1980s, Cardiacs were a professed influence or inspiration for Marillion, It Bites and British psychedelic acts such as Ring ; during the 1990s, emerging bands and musicians who were Cardiacs fans included Blur, Radiohead, Supergrass Shane Embury of Napalm Death, Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson, The Scaramanga Six, The Monsoon Bassoon and The Wildhearts ( who would later pay direct tribute via their track " Tim Smith " on 2009's Chutzpah !).

Jeff McDonald ( born 1963, in Hawthorne, California ) is a rock and roll singer and guitarist who co-founded the alternative rock, power pop band Redd Kross with his younger brother Steven Shane McDonald and remains in the band.

After The Pogues threw MacGowan out for unprofessional behaviour, he formed a new band, Shane MacGowan and The Popes, recording two studio albums, a live album, three tracks on The Popes " Outlaw Heaven " ( 2010 ) and a live DVD, and touring internationally.

When not touring with The Pogues, Shane plays with his new band, The Shane Gang.

Morris disagreed and he and Coats recruited Steven Shane McDonald from Redd Kross and Mario Rubalcaba from Rocket from the Crypt / Hot Snakes to start a new band called OFF!
