Peak among them at # 3 on the Black Singles, # 18 on the Pop Singles charts and # 22 on the UK Singles was the Holland – Dozier – Holland song " How Sweet It Is ( To Be Loved By You )", which had previously hit for Marvin Gaye in 1964.

Not far behind, "( I'm a ) Road Runner ", by the same songwriters, reached # 4 on Black Singles and # 20 on Pop Singles, while suprassing " How Sweet It Is " to reach # 12 in the UK.

The re-release of their second single, " My House " ( from the album Formaldehyde ), in January 1994 proved to be Terrorvision's breakthrough to UK Singles Chart success, and preceded by months the release of their second album How to Make Friends and Influence People in April 1994.

LMC is best known for the track " Take Me to the Clouds Above " which featured a sample from " How Will I Know " by Whitney Houston, and " With or Without You " by U2 which topped the UK Singles Chart in early 2004, as well as going top 5 in Ireland and top 10 in Australia.

The band has won multiple Juno Awards, an American Music Award, and a MTV Video Music Award Their hit single " How You Remind Me " reached the top on the Canadian Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time, making them the second Canadian band to accomplish this, the first being The Guess Who with " American Woman " in 1970.

" This Is How My Drummer Drums " charted on the Dance Music / Club Play Singles chart ( 1998, # 32 ), while the Hot Dance Singles Sales chart has included " A Little Louder " ( 2003, # 16 ) and " And Go!

" How You Remind Me " was the # 1 song on the Billboards 2002 Year-End Hot 100 Singles Chart,

" How It Ends " reached Number 101 in the UK Singles Charts.

" Singles from the album included "( If There Was ) Any Other Way ", " The Last to Know ", " Unison ", and " Where Does My Heart Beat Now ", a mid-tempo soft-rock ballad which made prominent use of the electric guitar.

* January 25 — At age 84, octogenerian comedian George Burns becomes by far the oldest performer ( to that time ) to have a single in the top 40 of Billboards Hot Country Singles chart with " I Wish I Was 18 Again.

The album's first single, " What Was I Thinkin '," reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts later that year.

In 1998 she had a # 1 hit single on the U. S. Hot Dance Club Play chart and a # 8 hit on the UK Singles Chart with her cover version of Everything but the Girl's " I Didn't Know I Was Looking for Love ", under the more simple title of " Looking for Love ".

The band's debut single, " Smalltown Boy ", the tale of a boy who was cast away by his family for being homosexual, was a hit, peaking at No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart.

" I Wanna Be Your Lover " sold over a million copies, and reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 1 for two weeks on the Hot Soul Singles chart.

Singles were released in various territories for three of the album's songs, " If You Were Here ", " Things She Said " and " 747 " ( featuring the English version of " Kräm ", entitled " What It Feels Like ").

The New Kids hit pay dirt with their next single, " I'll Be Loving You ( Forever )", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart in June.

" Let's Try It Again " hit No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart, whilst " Baby I Believe In You " went No. 1 on the Japanese Chart, further signifying the international appeal of the group.

The followup single, " Never Let You Go ", failed to chart in the U. S., but did reach No. 42 in the UK Singles Chart and No. 18 in the Canadian charts.

Following the success of the album, the band re-released singles " Hate to Say I Told You So " and " Main Offender " which reach numbers No. 23 and No. 24 respectively in the UK Singles chart.

They branched into country music with a version of their 2005 song " Who Says You Can't Go Home ", which reached number one on the Hot Country Singles chart in 2006 and the rock / country album Lost Highway which reached number one in 2007.

Singles such as " Run Come ", " Not for Sale ", " African Girl ", " Lovers Rock ", " In a Dis Ya Time ", " Africa " and " Make It with You " ( with Carroll Thompson ) were hits in the years that followed.

The two first singles gained considerable airtime on alternative rock radio stations, while the video for " Nearly Lost You " became an MTV and alternative radio hit in the fall of 1992, thanks to its inclusion in the soundtrack for the film Singles.

" Nearly Lost You " peaked at No. 5 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart and No. 50 in the UK Singles Chart, making it the band's first single to chart outside the United States.

" Could You Be Loved " was # 6 and # 56 respectively on the Club Play Singles and Black Singles charts.

It had one promotional single, a live version of " Calling You ", which peaked at seventy-five on the French Singles Chart.

The singles " You Look So Good in Love " ( which was Strait's first to have a music video ), " Right or Wrong " and " Let's Fall to Pieces Together " both topped the Hot Country Singles chart.

Its first two singles " Don't Take It Personal " and " Before You Walk out of My Life " made her the youngest recording act to ever have two consecutive chart-topping hits on the US Billboard Top R & B Singles chart.
