The Spitfire Boys were mainly notable for including in their line-up Peter Clarke, who went on to drum for The Slits and later Siouxsie and the Banshees ( as well as marrying Siouxsie of the Banshees ) as Budgie, and Paul Rutherford, later better known for being a member of 1980s pop band Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

" Smith soon became influenced by the emergence of the UK punk scene of 1977, and has cited The Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, Elvis Costello, The Buzzcocks and Siouxsie and the Banshees as important influences on his own music from this period.

The Bromley Contingent attained a degree of notoriety in December 1976 when Siouxsie, Severin, Thomas and Barker appeared on ITV with the Sex Pistols on Thames Television's early evening television programme Today.

In the following week, Siouxsie appeared on the front page of the Daily Mirror with the legend " Siouxsie a punk shocker ".

The fashion statements made by Siouxsie, in particular, incorporating fetish and bondage clothing, and her innovative style of makeup, continue to live on.

Nocturne is a live double-album by Siouxsie and the Banshees, released in 1983 and remastered in 2009, which features performances recorded at two shows at the Royal Albert Hall on September 30 and October 1, 1983, featuring Robert Smith ( of The Cure ) on guitar.
