Vivian Stanshall ( born Victor Anthony Stanshall ; 21 March 1943 – 5 March 1995 ) was an English singer-songwriter, painter, musician, author, poet and wit, best known for his work with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, for his surreal exploration of the British upper classes in Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, and for narrating Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.

One of his strangest films, and one he took great delight in, was Vivian Stanshall's 1980 Sir Henry at Rawlinson End in which he played the title role.

Born Shirley Vivian Teresa Brittain Catlin, Williams is the daughter of a political scientist and philosopher Sir George Catlin, and the feminist and pacifist writer Vera Brittain.

On January 3, 1958 Sir Edmund Hillary's New Zealand part of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition reached the station over land from Scott Base, followed shortly by Sir Vivian Fuchs ' British scientific component.

He produced Vivian Stanshall's first foray into radio, both by overseeing Stanshall's Radio Flashes when Stanshall stood in for a vacationing John Peel, and Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End.

Further acquisition of neighbouring properties continued into the 1980s, culminating in the purchase of a house and garden owned by Sir Vivian Fuchs on the western side on the college.

Sir Vivian Ernest Fuchs FRS ( 11 February 1908 – 11 November 1999 ) was an English explorer whose expeditionary team completed the first overland crossing of Antarctica in 1958.

Sir Vivian Fuchs died in Cambridge on 11 November 1999, aged 91.

Vivian had previously served as premier for a brief period from 12 December 1992 to 9 March 1993 following the death of Sir Robert Rex.

In his political career, which has spanned over 30 years, Young Vivian has held most ( if not all ) ministerial portfolios in Niue's government – mostly during his many years as a Cabinet Minister in the governments of Sir Robert Rex ( in office 1974 – 1992 ) and of Frank Lui ( in office 1993 – 1999 ).

Freshwater was also the birthplace of Sir Vivian Ernest Fuchs FRS ( 11 February 1908 – 11 November 1999 ).
