Public education in the community of Bedford is provided by Lincoln County School District # 2.

The Bedford Corners Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

It is a contributing property to the Bedford Springs Hotel Historic District, a designated National Historic Landmark.

Kempston in 1908The Urban District was based on East End, Up End and Kempston New Town all of which are in the north eastern part of the parish close to Bedford, and had 86. 8 % of the total population at the 1901 census.

In 1974 Kempston Urban District was abolished and Kempston reverted to being a civil parish, in the Borough of Bedford but with a separate town council with minor powers.

Running north west from Luton, the road travels through Bedford, bypasses Rushden, Kettering and Market Harborough, continues through Leicester, Loughborough, Derby and Matlock before going through the Peak District to Bakewell, Buxton, Stockport, Manchester, Salford, Pendleton, Irlams o ' th ' Height, Pendlebury, Swinton, Walkden, Little Hulton, Bolton, Chorley, Preston, Lancaster, Kendal and Penrith before reaching Carlisle.

When the three townships of Pennington, Westleigh and Bedford merged in 1875 forming the Leigh Local Board District, Leigh became the official name for the town although it had been applied to the area of Pennington and Westleigh around the parish church for many centuries.

Before the section of Highway 19 from Campbell River to Port Hardy was opened in 1979, Highway 28 acted as the main access to Port Hardy and various other communities on the northern tip of the Island ( in the Regional District of Mount Waddington ), aided by a system of local logging roads leading from the highway to the various north Island communities.

In 1837, Trousdale once again ran for Congress for the 6th District congressional seat, but lost to William B. Campbell, his former subordinate in the Seminole Wars and his future gubernatorial opponent.

In Trousdale's reelection campaign in 1851, his opponent was William B. Campbell, a fellow Mexican-American War hero who had served under Trousdale in the Seminole Wars, and had defeated Trousdale for the 6th District congressional seat in 1837 and 1839.

The centre is located in the southern part of the Parramatta Central Business District ( CBD ) occupying a number of city blocks, bordered by Church Street, Argyle Street, Marsden Street, O ' Connell Street and Campbell Street.
