Pacific Wings has said the airline would serve the routes with Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, and would aim to wean the routes off subsidy service, as it has done in Hawaii.

Mount Cook Ski Planes now operates a fleet of Cessna 185s and Pilatus Porters, and is the only company to land scenic flights on the Tasman Glacier to this day.

Brooklands Flying Club are based at Sywell and fly the Aero AT-3 and Cessna 172 which are used as trainers for Private Pilot Licenses ( PPL ), Joint Aviation Requirements ( JAR ) and night rating training.

These systems are included in the latest avionics packages from manufacturers such as Cirrus and Cessna.

Corporate aircraft such as the Beechcraft Super King Air, Cessna CitationJet series, Hawker 400, Hawker 800, Piaggio Avanti and variants of the Dassault Falcon business jets are increasingly common.

Also, 9-seat Cessna Caravans and 9-seat Piper Chieftan SeaPort intends to run are newer than the 19-passenger Beech 1900D aircraft by Great Lakes.

Private charter flights are provided by Walker Flying Services who operates Cessna 210 and Cessna 402 aircraft.

Additionally, two Civil Air Patrol aircraft are based at TUL, a Cessna 172 and Cessna 182 respectively.

Cessna recently announced they were partnering with Winglet Technology, LLC of Wichita, Kansas, to test a new wingtip device called Elliptical Winglets, which are designed to increase range and increase payload on hot and high departures.

By 2005, even basic trainers like the Piper Cherokee and Cessna 172 were shipping with glass cockpits as options ( which nearly all customers chose ), and many modern aircraft such as the Diamond Aircraft twin-engine travel and training aircraft DA42, and Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22 are available with glass cockpit only.
