Of the entire Colonial battle fleet, only the Battlestar Galactica, a gigantic battleship and spacecraft carrier ( analogous to an aircraft carrier ), appears to have survived the Cylon conflagration.

At the end, both the Colonial fleet and rebel Cylons reach Earth-our Earth-and encounter primitive human tribes in Africa.

Colonial forces could do little to stop these shipments due to the naval supremacy of the British fleet and the complete absence of any sort of rebel armed vessels.
