The Conservation Area also comprises open parkland of historical importance, including the grounds of Carshalton House Estate ( which contains St. Philomena ’ s Catholic School, St Mary ’ s Junior School, St Mary ’ s Infants School and the Water Tower ) and The Grove Park ( which contains The Grove ).

The Water Treatment Works is next to the Sunnyside Reservoir and the Stain Hill Reservoirs-sites of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and contains flower-rich grassland and habitats for water birds.

Burnsville also contains the Black Dog and Lower Minnesota River Watershed Districts managed by the Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District

The municipality contains two ecological reserves called the Cerro Huitepec Private Reserve and the Rancho Nuevo Ecological Conservation Zone.

The Conservation Area contains all of the town's Listed buildings and smaller structures, approximately 40 in total.

The centre of Great Baddow is now a Conservation Area and contains over 30 listed buildings.

The residential part of Parkville South, commenced in 1861 is a Conservation Area under the Register of the National Estate and contains almost all of the suburb's housing.

The Hunter region contains the Goulburn River National Park, Myall Lakes National Park, Barrington Tops National Park, Werakata National Park, Watagans National Park, Mount Royal National Park, Polkolbin State Forest, Putty State Forest, Chichester State Forest, Running Creek Nature Reserve, The Glen Nature Reserve, Black Bulga State Conservation Area, Myall River State Forest and Karuah Nature Reserve,

Norway Beach recreation area is located at the southeast corner of the lake, and contains Norway Beach Lodge, a notable example of Civilian Conservation Corps-built Finnish-style log architecture.

The ancient Church of St Mary the Virgin, now redundant but open to the public, and in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, contains part of a carved sarcophagus reputed to have contained the remains of St Augustine of Canterbury.

Nearby is the Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve, which contains three of Victoria's state emblems.

The parish contains parts of the Bredon Hill Special Area of Conservation ; parts of three Sites of Special Scientific Interest ; and parts of twelve Local Wildlife Sites ( the best sites in Worcestershire not covered by national designations ).

It covers most of the mountainous centre of the state, also known as the Central Plateau which contains the Central Plateau Conservation Area including sections of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, as well as the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, and Walls of Jerusalem National Park.

Trevone Bay Site of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ) contains four Geological Conservation Review sites ( GCR ) and is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ( AONB ).

Port Sunlight contains 900 Grade II listed buildings, and was declared a Conservation Area in 1978.

The island in the middle contains Hanger Lane tube station and a nature reserve ( Site of Importance for Nature Conservation ).

Cotterstock parish contains 20 entries on the statutory list of buildings of special architectural or historic interest, 16 of which are within the Conservation Area covering the eastern part of the village around St Andrew's Church and Cotterstock Hall.
