* 1920 – Czechoslovak National assembly adopted the Constitution.

The Czechoslovak Constitution of 1920 and the constitutional law on minorities which was adopted alongside the constitution on the same day, established the Czechoslovak language ( i. e. Czech and Slovak considered as two official dialects of one language ) as an official language.

The 1960 Constitution of Czechoslovakia declared the victory of " socialism " and proclaimed the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.

Although the constitution did not establish the vanguard role of the KSČ within the Czechoslovak state and government administration under the Leninist principle of democratic centralism ( these were provisions only of the following " socialist " 1960 Constitution of Czechoslovakia ), it confirmed the KSČ had in Czechoslovakia the absolute power, just as other Communist parties in Communist countries.

In the 1970s and 1980s the government structure was based on the amended 1960 Constitution of Czechoslovakia, which identified the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic as a federative state of two equal fraternal nations.

The traditional name Československá republika ( Czechoslovak Republic ) was changed on 11 July 1960 following implementation of the 1960 Constitution of Czechoslovakia as a symbol of the " final victory of socialism " in the country, and remained so until the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia.

On 11 July 1960, the 1960 Constitution of Czechoslovakia was promulgated, changing the name of the country from the " Czechoslovak Republic " to the " Czechoslovak Socialist Republic ".

Suppressing the Socialist movement in February 1934, he cemented the rule of “ austrofascism ” through the authoritarian First of May Constitution.

In the 1963 Constitution of Yugoslavia it was slightly renamed, to bring it in line with the other Yugoslav republics, as the Socialist Republic of Macedonia.

While the Constitution of the Soviet Union described that union as a " unitary, federal and multinational state ", it was in reality a unitary state as each Soviet Socialist Republic was dominated by the Communist Party.

According to the Article 76 of the Soviet Constitution, the sovereign Soviet socialist states united to become the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

* April 15 – The National Assembly of Vietnam adopts the 1992 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

With formal adoption ( inauguration ) of the Amendment IX to the Constitution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the anthem Hey, Slavs gained constitutional sanction on November 25, 1988.

In Schenck, the petitioners, members of the Socialist Party, were convicted of violating the Espionage Act of 1917 for printing and distributing circulars asserting that American citizens had a right to oppose the draft during World War I because, among other things, it violated the United States Constitution.

A new Constitution was drawn up and came into force on 28 Sep 1990 transforming the one-party Socialist Republic of Serbia into a multi-party Republic of Serbia The first multi-party elections were held on 9 and 23 December 1990 and in what became the pattern for the next several elections the Socialist Party of Serbia won, as Milošević maintained firm control over the state media and opposition parties had little access.

On 1 December 2004, 59 % of Socialist Party members approved the proposed European Constitution.

Both Nader and Camejo said the main reason they ran in the 2004 election was because there were no other national candidates demanding an immediate withdrawal of American troops from what they believe is an immoral and unconstitutionally pursued War in Iraq ( though Green David Cobb, Libertarian Michael Badnarik, Constitution Party candidate Michael Peroutka, Socialist Party USA candidate Walt Brown and Socialist Workers Party candidate Róger Calero also opposed the war to varying degrees.

In 2005, during the referendum campaign on the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe ( TCE ), the PCF supported the ' No ' side alongside other left-wing groups, much of the Socialist Party, the Greens, and right wing eurosceptics.

The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic ( Ukrainian SSR ) or simply, Ukraine (; ; See Name section ) or Soviet Ukraine was a sovereign Soviet Socialist state ( Article 68, Constitution of Ukraine 1978 ) and one of the fifteen constituent republics of the Soviet Union lasting from its inception in 1922 ( the Ukrainian SSR was formally established in 1919 ) to the breakup in 1991.

Since the rejection of the revised Albanian Constitution during the 1994 Referendum, the foreign relations between Albania, the European Union and the United States began to deteriorate due to autocratic manners of the President Berisha in the matters of the state, but they also were sceptical about the abilities of the lidership of the Socialist Party to govern the country, in case the Socialist Party were to win the Parliamentary Elections of 1996.

* Constitution of the Roman Republic

The French State refuses to change the second article of the Constitution ( added in 1994 ), which states that “ the language of the Republic is French ”.

An attempt by the French government to incorporate the independent Breton-language immersion schools ( called Diwan ) into the state education system was blocked by the French Constitutional Council on the grounds that, as the 1992 amendment to the Constitution of the 5th Republic states that French is the language of the Republic, no other language may be used as a language of instruction in state schools.

The 1978 Constitution of the People's Republic of China guarantees " freedom of religion " with a number of restrictions.

According to the Constitution of the Czech Republic, the President is the head of state while the Prime Minister is the head of government, exercising supreme executive power.
