The Swans share a long and storied rivalry with St Kilda which dates back to the days when South Melbourne played at the Lake Oval on the other side of Melbourne's Albert Park Lake, not far from St Kilda's old home ground, Junction Oval.

Because the Swans and the Saints used to be towards the bottom of the ladder on a regular basis after the Second World War up until St Kilda's move away from the Junction Oval, clashes between both sides used to be dubbed " The Lake Premiership ".

The club's first home ground was the Junction Oval in the suburb of St Kilda in Melbourne and the club's first home game was against Fitzroy.

St Kilda's final home game for premiership points at the Junction Oval was the Round 18 match on 22 August 1964 against Geelong.

These include the historic Junction Oval which has in the past been a prominent VFL / AFL venue and more recently a training facility for the Melbourne Football Club.

Several amateur VAFA clubs also use the park for their home grounds including the Collegians Football Club ( Harry Trott Oval ), Powerhouse Football Club ( Ross Gregory Oval ) and Old Melburnians ( Junction Oval ) are based in the St Kilda section of Albert Park.

* St Kilda Football Club-in 1964 relocated from the Junction Oval in St Kilda to the Moorabbin Oval in the South Eastern Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin.

In 1970, the club again moved its home game to the Junction Oval in 1970, then the Whitten Oval in 1984 before eventually merging with an interstate club.

The club's training headquarters are currently at the Junction Oval which proves troublesome during the summer as it is used for cricket.

He posted a sublime 219 not out in his last home match, followed by 104 not out in his last Sheffield Shield innings against Victoria at Junction Oval.

A few months before turning nineteen, Lawry made his debut for Victoria, against Western Australia at the Junction Oval in the 1955 – 56 season.

The land was roughly bounded by Caroll Avenue to the Big Spring ( now Takoma Junction ) and what is now Woodland Avenue.

There is also easy access to the M8 motorway via Junction 25.

It is located near Megiddo Junction, the intersection of highways 65 ( from Hadera to Afula ) and 66 ( running from Haifa south to Judea and Samaria ).
