Officially titled Rifle, No. 5 Mk I, it was introduced in the closing months of World War II, but did not see widespread service until the Korean War, the Mau Mau uprising, and the Malayan Emergency.

The Ford GT40 is a high performance British-American sports car and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans four consecutive times, from 1966 to 1969 ( 1966 being the Mk II, 1967 the Mk IV, and 1968-1969 the oldest chassis design, the Mk I ).

The experience gained in 1964 and 1965 allowed the 7-litre Mk II to dominate the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1966 with a 1-2-3 result.

The Mk IV, a newer design with a Mk II engine but a different chassis and a different body, won the following year at Le Mans ( when four Mark IVs, three Mark IIs and three Mark Is raced ).

It was later upgraded to Mk II specifications with a 7. 0 liter ( 427ci ) engine and a standard four ratio Kar Kraft gearbox, however the car kept specific features such as its open roof and lightweight chassis.

For Daytona 1967, two Mk II models ( chassis 1016 and 1047 ) were fitted with Mercury 7. 0 liter engines.

The tub weighed only, and the entire car weighed only, less than the Mk II.

The Mk IV was built around a reinforced J chassis powered by the same 7. 0 L engine as the Mk II.

Nine Mk II Colossi were built ( The Mk I was converted to a Mk II making ten machines in total ).

The Mk II model was introduced in late 1979.

The Lola proposal was chosen, since Lola had used a Ford V8 engine in their mid-engined Lola Mk 6 ( also known as Lola GT ).

The first all-electronic desktop calculator was the British ANITA Mk. VII, which used a Nixie tube display and 177 subminiature thyratron tubes.

The Mk 40 was used during the Korean and Vietnam wars, being used to provide close air support to ground forces from about 20 different firing platforms, both fixed-wing and armed helicopters.

Vast numbers of ex-military SMLE Mk III rifles were sporterised post-WWII to create cheap, effective hunting rifles, and the Lee-Enfield bolt system is used in the M10 and No 4 Mk IV rifles manufactured by Australian International Arms.

However, the German Würzburg radar was capable of providing data suitable for controlling AA guns and the British AA No 1 Mk 1 GL radar was designed to be used on AA gun positions.

The Mk 24 Tigerfish torpedo was a heavyweight acoustic homing torpedo used by the Royal Navy ( RN ) for several years.

This was similar to the system used on the earlier Mk 23 torpedo.

When the team was founded, HRT operators used the 9mm FN-Browning Hi-Power Mk 2 pistol, which was later supplemented by the 9mm SIG P226 pistol.

According to the contract signed on May 28, 1930, the company delivered to the USSR 15 twin-turreted Vickers Mk. E ( Type A, armed with two. 303 calibre ( 7. 71 mm ) water-cooled Vickers machine guns ) tanks together with full technical documentation to enable series production of the tank in the USSR.

The Mk 2 could be collapsed but along its 15 ft length ... to just c. 7 inches This mk 2 and its three man Mk 2 ** were all of the same design and were designed by the same man-a Mr Fred Goatley.

Design work for the Mk 7 was completed in 1953 with production beginning soon afterwards.
