The Admirals play at Norfolk Scope Arena, seating 8, 725 or 13, 800 festival seating, which opened in 1971.

Norfolk Scope was also the site of an infamous episode of WCW Monday Nitro, where several members of the World Wrestling Federation stable D-Generation X literally drove a tank to the entryway of the Scope, thus " invading " the competition.

For larger concerts and events, Virginia has the Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow ( marketed as D. C. for most tours ), the Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach in Virginia Beach, the Richmond Coliseum, the Hampton Coliseum and the Norfolk Scope.

They even staged a protest / paramilitary take-over of the Norfolk Scope, where an episode of WCW Monday Nitro was taking place ( on that same night, Monday Night Raw was emanating from nearby Hampton, Virginia ).

Things got so heated between the two programs that D-X was sent to Atlanta, Georgia to film a segment near Turner's headquarters for a " war " storyline that was done when both shows were in nearby areas on the same night ( Raw in Hampton, Virginia and Nitro in nearby Norfolk ), sending D-X to the Norfolk Scope arena which Nitro was broadcasting from and interacting with WCW fans.

( This eventually led to a lawsuit filed by WCW against the WWF, who had claimed that in order to fill the Norfolk Scope for Nitro, WCW had given away free tickets on the day of the program.

D-Generation X traveled from the WWF show in Hampton to The Scope in Norfolk and shouted insults against WCW through a bullhorn, as well as mentioning the fact that WCW gave out free tickets to fill up arenas for television while sporting black armbands with the acronym POWCW ( Prisoner of WCW ), which referenced Kliq members Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.
