It was a dreadful idea and I bypassed it by doing Ro-Busters, which he hated-so I knew my story would be a hit " Although he had stayed with 2000 AD, and would go on to be the art editor there, Kevin O ' Neill provided the initial designs for Ro-Buster but would only draw the series later after its move to 2000 AD.

After the launch of ABC Warriors Pat Mills never wrote another Ro-Busters story but there were a number of one-offs published in the 2000 AD Annual during the early eighties, most notable three stories by Alan Moore which were the last Ro-Busters tales.

Hammerstein is a fictional robot created by Pat Mills who first appeared in 1978 as a member of Ro-Busters in the British comic Starlord but is best known as the leader of the ABC Warriors in 2000AD.

Developed by Howard Quartz's Ro-Busters corporation, they first saw use at Fishguard in 2009, leading the Allied liberation of the United Kingdom.

With Mad Ronn lost, their numbers were bolstered by Hammerstein's former Ro-Busters comrade Mek-Quake.

Also working on early feature Ro-Busters ( after Starlord merged with 2000 AD ), Gibbons became one of the most prolific of 2000 ADs earliest creators, contributing artwork to 108 of the first 131 Progs / issues.

Along with Strontium Dog, Ro-Busters survived Starlord's merger with 2000 AD, its sister comic at IPC Magazines Ltd.

In 1979 McMahon took some time off from Dredd to draw Pat Mills's robot disaster squad Ro-Busters and its spin-off ABC Warriors, alternating with Kevin O ' Neill and others, and under O ' Neill's influence his work became tighter and his figures chunkier.

Mills contributed Ro-Busters, a series about a robot disaster squad, which moved to 2000 AD when Starlord was cancelled.

He was eventually sold as army surplus to the much feared Ro-Busters Disaster Ltd, which saw him serving alongside the sewer robot Ro-Jaws.

Ro-Busters was the beginning of a mini-universe of interrelated stories Mills was to create for 2000 AD, including ABC Warriors and Nemesis the Warlock.
