Those who refused to believe that He was the eternal Son of God were termed Arianists.

The outcome of such an experiment has been in due time the acceptance of the Bible as the Word of God inspired in a sense utterly different from any merely human book, and with it the acceptance of our Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, Son of Man by the Virgin Mary, the Saviour of the world.

Accept the sinless Son of God, Jesus Christ, as your own personal Saviour.

Jesus also maintained that the time would come when the dead would hear the voice of the Son of God, and all who were in the tombs would come out, the faithful to the resurrection of life, and the unfaithful to the resurrection of judgment.

AD 250 – 336 ), a Christian presbyter in Alexandria, Egypt, concerning the relationship of the persons of the Trinity (' God the Father ', ' God the Son ' ( Jesus of Nazareth ), and ' God the Holy Spirit ') and the precise nature of the Son of God as being a subordinate entity to God the Father.

Then, when the Son became flesh and entered into the world, these two divine and human natures both remained but became united in the person of Jesus.

Oneness Pentecostals believe that Jesus was " Son " only when he became flesh on earth, but was the Father prior to his being made human.

There are various views ranging from the belief that Jesus was simply a human ( psilanthropism ) who, because of his greatness, was adopted by God as his Son ( adoptionism ) to the belief that Jesus literally became the Son of God when he was conceived by the Holy Spirit ( see Virgin birth of Jesus ).

The creed of Ulfilas, which concludes a letter praising him written by his foster-son and pupil Auxentius of Durostorum ( modern Silistra ) on the Danube, who became bishop of Milan, distinguishes God the Father (" unbegotten ") from God the Son (" only-begotten "), who was begotten before time and who created the world, and the Holy Spirit, proceeding from the Father and the Son:

Some say that the Chinese Emperor Wu became interested in developing commercial relationships with the sophisticated urban civilizations of Ferghana, Bactria and Parthian Empire: " The Son of Heaven on hearing all this reasoned thus: Ferghana ( Dayuan ) and the possessions of Bactria ( Ta-Hsia ) and Parthian Empire ( Anxi ) are large countries, full of rare things, with a population living in fixed abodes and given to occupations somewhat identical with those of the Chinese people, but with weak armies, and placing great value on the rich produce of China " ( Hou Hanshu, Later Han History ).

The Incarnation of Christ is a central Christian doctrine that God became flesh, assumed a human nature, and became a man in the form of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the second person of the Trinity.

Adoptionism was declared heresy at the end of the 2nd century and was rejected by the First Council of Nicaea, which defined the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity and identified the man Jesus with the eternally begotten Son or Word of God.

The 2nd-century work Shepherd of Hermas also taught that Jesus was a virtuous man filled with the Holy Spirit and adopted as the Son.

Yahweh commissions Ezekiel to be a prophet and a " watchman " in Israel: " Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites.

Eddy distinguished between the corporeal Jesus, the human man in the flesh ( the Son of Man ), and the incorporeal Christ ( the Son of God ).

" Jesus, the only immaculate, was born of a virgin mother, and Christian Science explains that mystic saying of the Master as to his dual personality, or the spiritual and material Christ Jesus, called in Scripture the Son of God and the Son of man — explains it as referring to his eternal spiritual selfhood and his temporal manhood.

Christian Science teaches that we are not Christians until we " go and do likewise ," until we in some degree " come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ ," as it says in the Scriptures ( Ephesians 4: 13 ).

According to Christian writers, most notably Paul, the Bible teaches that people are, in their current state, sinful, and the New Testament reveals that Jesus is both the Son of man and the Son of God, united in the hypostatic union, God the Son, God made incarnate ; that Jesus ' death by crucifixion was a sacrifice to atone for all humanity's sins, and that acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord saves one from Divine Judgment, giving Eternal life.

The Cappadocian Fathers asserted that God's nature is unknowable to man ; helped to develop the framework of hypostases, or three persons united in a single Godhead ; illustrated how Jesus is the eikon of the Father ; and explained the concept of theosis, the belief that all Christians can be assimilated with God in " imitation of the incarnate Son as the divine model.

Which states " For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly ; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

But so much is written for the sake of proving that Jesus the Christ is the Son of God and His Apostle, being of old the Word, and appearing sometimes in the form of fire, and sometimes in the likeness of angels ; but now, by the will of God, having become man for the human race, He endured all the sufferings which the devils instigated the Jews to inflict upon Him ; who, though they have it expressly affirmed in the writings of Moses, “ And the angel of God spake to Moses in a flame of fire in a bush, and said, I am that I am, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob ,” yet maintain that He who said this was the Father and Creator of the universe.

For He shall come on the clouds as the Son of man, so Daniel foretold, and His angels shall come with Him.

This view seems to satisfy that " some " disciples would see the glory of the Son of Man, but it does not satisfy that " he will repay every man for what he has done.

In the Roman Rite, the wording of the prayer of exorcism is: " Almighty and ever-living God, you sent your only Son into the world to cast out the power of Satan, spirit of evil, to rescue man from the kingdom of darkness and bring him into the splendour of your kingdom of light.

The core of this doctrine is that Jesus Christ was a perfect man, is the Son of God and that he died and rose again for the wrongdoing of those who will accept the gift of salvation.
