On 20 January 1942, senior Nazi officials met at the Wannsee Villa ( built 1914-1915 ) to plan the Final Solution to the " Jewish Question " – the extermination of the Jews of Europe.

Heydrich chaired the January 1942 Wannsee Conference, which laid out plans for the final solution to the Jewish Question — the deportation and extermination of all Jews in German-occupied territory.

On 20 January 1942 Heydrich chaired the Wannsee Conference, at which he presented to the heads of a number of German Government departments a plan for the deportation and transporting of 11 million Jewish people from every country in Europe, to be worked to death or killed outright in extermination camps.

In the course of the meeting, Heydrich presented a plan, presumably approved by Adolf Hitler, for the deportation of the Jewish population of Europe and French North Africa ( Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia ) to German-occupied areas in eastern Europe, and the use of the Jews fit for labour on road-building projects, in the course of which they would eventually die according to the text of the Wannsee Protocol, the surviving remnant to be annihilated after completion of the projects.

On 29 November, Heydrich sent invitations for a meeting to be held on 9 December at the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Commission ( the forerunner of Interpol, of which Heydrich at the time served as President ) at 16 Am Kleinen Wannsee ( in the comfortable lakeside suburb of Wannsee on the western edge of Berlin ).

But Gerlach substantiates with convincing details that the originally planned Wannsee Conference had an entirely different theme from that which actually took place six weeks later.

It only became worse with the years, culminating in the Holocaust, or so-called " Final Solution ", which was made official at the January 1942 Wannsee Conference.

In the 2001 HBO film Conspiracy, which portrayed the Wannsee Conference, Bühler was played by the British actor Ben Daniels.

Stuckart later represented Wilhelm Frick, the Interior Minister, at the Wannsee conference on 20 January 1942, which discussed the imposition of the " Final Solution of the Jewish Question in the German Sphere of Influence in Europe ".

The Wannsee Conference was a meeting of senior officials of the Nazi German regime, held in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee on 20 January 1942.

As a result of the efforts of historian Joseph Wulf, the Wannsee House, where the conference was held, is now a Holocaust Memorial.

The venue for the rescheduled conference was changed to a villa at 56 – 58 Am Großen Wannsee, a quiet residential street across the Großer Wannsee from the popular Wannsee beach.

The installation was finished by early March 1942-the camp then started to turn from a labour to a killing camp as envisioned in the Wannsee Conference.

The logistical details were established in the Wannsee Conference ( January 1942 ) and were executed by the administrator Adolf Eichmann.
