Emerson, Lake & Palmer kicked off ' 70s Symphonic Prog with their first album Emerson, Lake & Palmer ( 1970 ).

* Rock bands – Jeff Wayne and Rick Wakeman with Kevin Peek did a Progressive Rock version of the entire suite with added incidental music on an album called " Beyond The Planets " which also contained occasional narration by Patrick Allen. An arrangement of " Mars " by progressive-rock trio Emerson, Lake & Powell appeared on their eponymous album ( 1985 ) and was played in their 1985 – 86 live shows. King Crimson, Greg Lake's first successful band performed a rock arrangement of " Mars " live in 1969.

Their debut album was simply titled Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and was released in late 1970.

The album mixed in a ballad by Greg Lake ( The Sage ), a Blues Variation section by Emerson and many instances of heavily electronic and synthesised interpretations of Mussorgsky's work ( although the opening promenade was played faithfully on a Hammond organ ).

In 1991, Emerson, Lake & Palmer reformed and issued a 1992 comeback album, Black Moon, on JVC.

Following the breakup of ELP, circa 1979, Emerson had modest success with Emerson, Lake & Powell in the 1980s as well as with 3, with the album To the Power of Three.

His latest album, Keith Emerson Band featuring Marc Bonilla, was released in 2008.

By 1971, with the releases Pictures at an Exhibition and Trilogy, Emerson began to fully credit classical composers, Modest Mussorgsky for the piano piece which inspired the first album, and Aaron Copland for " Hoedown " on the second.

While all went well for the recording used to produce the album, the debut tour performance at the same venue ground to a halt as the power failed, just as Emerson arrived at the Hammond organ to open the next part of the piece.

During the long and wildly popular tour that followed the release of their second album, the group spawned controversy when Emerson burned an American flag onstage during a performance of " America ".

They recorded one album and were Emerson, Lake & Palmer's opening act at a number of concerts.

King, Bob Dylan, Vicki Brown, Cozy Powell, Rod Argent, the Beach Boys, Ozzy Osbourne, Paul Rodgers, Keith Emerson, Roger Daltrey, Albert King and together with Colosseum II with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the composer's Variations album in 1978.

In 1985 he started recording with Phenomena for their first album, which was released in 1986 when he joined up with Keith Emerson and Greg Lake as a member of Emerson, Lake & Powell.

The album featured " Backwater ", a minor hit on alternative radio, and a hidden-track update of " Lake of Fire.

Lake Tahoe is the second track on the tenth studio album 50 Words for Snow by English singer-songwriter Kate Bush, released 21 November 2011.

Punk band A released an ode to the location called I Love Lake Tahoe on their album ' A ' vs. Monkey Kong-the song notes that " that's where Sonny Bono died ".

* The film also included " Since I've Been Loving You ", the introduction to " Heartbreaker ", the instrumental " Bron-Yr-Aur " ( which appeared on Physical Graffiti ) and a hurdy gurdy piece called " Autumn Lake ", none of which were featured on the album.

With the 2007 re-release of both the album and film, the songs were synchronised so that the full set-list from the concerts was available on both, with each song mixed the same way ( the only exceptions being " Bron-Yr-Aur " and " Autumn Lake ", both of which continued to be absent from the album ).

With the album Cold Lake they were shown to experiment with glam metal.

He recorded the entire album in his home studio in Lake Charles, and played all the instruments himself.

The Swedish metal band Lake of Tears also recorded a song called " Raistlin and the Rose " on their 1997 album Crimson Cosmos, while the German group Blind Guardian wrote " The Soulforged ", another song inspired by Raistlin's story, which appeared on the band's 2002 album A Night at the Opera.

A version with Alicia Keys was included in Charles ' 2005 duets album Genius & Friends.

Her producer was present and suggested she include a version of it on her 1970 album Whales & Nightingales.

The album was a multi-platinum success and produced the pop hit " Lucky One " ( No. 18 pop and No. 2 AC ; No. 1 on Radio & Records ) as well as the title track ( a duet with country music star and future husband Vince Gill ) ( No. 37 pop ) and a cover of Joni Mitchell's frequently covered " Big Yellow Taxi " ( No. 67 pop ) ( in which she changed the line " And they charged the people a dollar and a half just to see em " to " And then they charged the people 25 bucks just to see em ").

The title of the album was apparently inspired by historian Eric Lott's book Love & Theft: Blackface Minstrelsy and the American Working Class, which was published in 1993.

Later, when The Village Voice conducted its Pazz & Jop Critics Poll for 2001, " Love and Theft " topped the list, the third Dylan album to accomplish this.

" Run From Love " was subsequently released in a remix form on the Bronski Beat album Hundreds & Thousands, a collection of mostly remixes ( LP ) and b-sides ( as bonus tracks on the CD version ) as well as the hit " I Feel Love ".

Sarah Martin later stated in the Q & A section of their website that it would be a 14 track album.

In a news update to the official website on 11 August 2010, it was revealed that their eighth studio album would be titled Belle & Sebastian Write About Love.

For their fourth album, Together Alone, Crowded House used New Zealand-based producer Martin Glover ( aka Youth ) and invited touring musician Mark Hart ( guitar & keyboards ) to become a permanent band member.

The album was released in June 2010, in time for the band's appearance at the West Coast Blues & Roots Festival near Perth, Western Australia.

The comedy group Buckner & Garcia released a novelty concept album, Pac-Man Fever, that went gold and produced a hit single of the same name ; all of the songs on the album pertained to popular video games of the time.

The Chilean alternative duo The Paintings formed in Santiago de Chile, 2009 by Eija-Lynn and Hieronymus released their debut album Tiny Tales Of Tides & Suns in February 2010.

The soundtrack album, which featured Louis Armstrong, Lambert, Hendricks & Ross, and Carmen McRae was recorded in 1961 ; the musical itself was performed at the 1962 Monterey Jazz Festival.

The track " Long May You Run " is a different mix to that found on the album of the same name, featuring the harmonies of the full Crosby Stills & Nash before David Crosby and Graham Nash left the recording sessions.
