If this etymology is combined with the tradition reported by Geoffrey of Monmouth stating that Ambrosius Aurelianus ordered the building of Stonehenge – which is located within the parish of Amesbury ( and where Ambrosius was supposedly buried ) – and with the presence of an Iron Age hill fort also in that parish, then it may be tempting to connect Ambrosius with Amesbury.

Today the fort has been recreated and is now a national monument.

Lisbalting / Lios Bealtaine (' fort or enclosure of Bealtaine ') is located in Kilcash Parish, County Tipperary.

Fort Dearborn was a United States fort built in 1803 beside the Chicago River in what is now Chicago, Illinois.

Hope Worli fort gets some tourist attention after construction of the " Bandra-worli Sealink " as it provides a grand spectacle from the forts summit of the entire Mumbai bay. Strangely, this fort was totally neglected and crumbling, although situated in prime Mumbai with a fishing village that is unique to bustling populated Mumbai.

This fort is still standing, and is a tourist attraction of the city.

In addition to the role of the fort and its adjacent beach as tourist attractions, Fort Taylor is also the location of a number of annual events, including week-long Civil War reenactments.

Significant as the site of the Battle of Pratapgad, the fort is now a popular tourist destination.

The island is dominated by a star fort, which is under development as a heritage tourist attraction.

St Angelo's fort is a most important historical monument and a popular tourist attraction.

Today, the fort serves as a state park and tourist attraction.
