For a very short distance Route 15 becomes a freeway as it crosses the Interstate 80 interchange.

The freeway turns to the west past the CR 555 interchange and crosses over a Conrail Shared Assets Operations railroad line before entering Millville again.

The freeway crosses Scotland Run and briefly runs through Pittsgrove Township in Salem County.

Route 55 south between interchanges with County Route 553 ( New Jersey ) | CR 553 and U. S. Route 322 in New Jersey | US 322 in Gloucester County, New Jersey | Gloucester County Past the US 322 interchange, the freeway continues through agricultural areas and enters Mantua Township, where it turns northeast and crosses under CR 553 Alternate.

Continuing east, the freeway crosses into Greenwich Township and has an interchange with CR 607.

Continuing north on Route 25, the freeway ends as it crosses Route 111 and continues as a surface road towards I-84 in Newtown leading to Danbury.

Route 124 crosses the Passaic River and runs along the border of Millburn, Essex County to the north and Summit, Union County, coming to a large interchange with the Route 24 freeway and County Route 649 ( John F. Kennedy Parkway ).

After passing the Ontario Street ( Regional Road 42 ) interchange, the freeway crosses Martindale Pond, which forms the mouth of Twelve Mile Creek.

As it crosses over the entrance to Hamilton Harbour, the freeway enters Burlington and the Regional Municipality of Halton.

The part west of the freeway has housing, a large industrial estate and is skirted by the Western Ring Road with interchanges where it crosses the freeway.

The highway crosses the state line from Texas into Caddo Parish as a two-lane road and crosses over to the south of I-20 without interchanging with the freeway.

The freeway continues beyond Annapolis as the Blue Star Memorial Highway which crosses Chesapeake Bay on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and continues to Queenstown.

The freeway heads north from the junction and soon crosses to the west side of the Santa Ana River, continuing north through suburban portions of Anaheim and passing next to Angel Stadium and the Honda Center.

The freeway crosses from Wisconsin into Minnesota on the bridge and then meets an interchange for Garfield Avenue and the Port Terminal in the city of Duluth.

The freeway continues with exits for George Street, Rutgers ( for access to the College Avenue Campus ) and Easton Avenue before exiting New Brunswick on the John A. Lynch, Sr. Memorial Bridge over the Raritan River.

Plans were made to extend the freeway north to Interstate 80 in Elmwood Park ; however, they were opposed by residents living on the east side of the Passaic River.

Route 21 comes to a northbound exit and southbound entrance for Grafton Avenue and Mill Street, briefly becoming a double-decker freeway again past that interchange before crossing into Belleville at the Second River crossing.

It enters Nutley where the freeway interchanges with County Route 646 ( Park Avenue ), continuing north through residential areas along the Passaic River.

US 77 merges with I-37 as a freeway from the south ; the two continue to the north and split after crossing the Nueces River.

On May 12, 2009, New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine and the Delaware River Port Authority, the agency which manages the PATCO Speedline, announced plans for a Camden-Philadelphia BRT ( bus rapid transit system ) along the Route 42 freeway and the adjacent Route 55 freeway as part of a comprehensive transportation plan for South Jersey that would include a diesel light rail line between Camden and Glassboro, improvements to the Atlantic City Line, and enhanced connections to the Atlantic City International Airport.

Meanwhile, the portion of freeway south of Route 47 in Maurice River Township was not yet built.

While the Kennebec River sustained the city from its inception, this mighty freeway also inspired fear.

1982 saw the incorporation of the City of Draper, a town once situated at the south-east end of the Salt Lake Valley, their incorporated boundaries, uncontested by Riverton, took area all of the area eastward from the Jordan River to the I-15 freeway, an area that was once " loosely " considered or referred to as Riverton or " Riverton Siding ".

Route 129 originates as the earliest designation on a freeway from the Scudders Falls Bridge on the Delaware River to the interchange with Scotch Road, which opened in 1961.

* " The Lakeshore " ( Etobicoke — Lakeshore ); along the north shore of Lake Ontario and the ' Lake Shore Road ' ( now Lake Shore Boulevard West ), comprises three communities that were the first in Etobicoke to urbanize and became separate municipalities during the first half of the 20th century: the Town of Mimico, the Town of New Toronto, Village of Long Branch, and related communities that were never separate from the Township of Etobicoke ; namely, Alderwood ( originally a suburb of New Toronto ), and Humber Bay ( a historic gateway community connecting to Toronto ) which was originally sprawl from the east side of the Humber River that was subsequently split by the construction of Ontario's first motor vehicle ' freeway ' in 1938, which cuts across the top of southern Etobicoke ; ( the Queen Elizabeth Way ).

Across the Delaware River in Philadelphia, a freeway which was to be called the Pulaski Expressway and be designated Pennsylvania Route 90 was to have run from Interstate 95 northwest to U. S. Route 1.

Route 90 as seen heading eastbound, with some nonstandard signage. Route 90 begins at the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border on the Betsy Ross Bridge over the Delaware River, where the road continues into Philadelphia as an unnumbered freeway that heads to an interchange with Interstate 95.

From the Betsy Ross Bridge, Route 90 heads to the southeast into Pennsauken Township, Camden County as a six-lane, freeway maintained by the Delaware River Port Authority, passing over residential areas as well as County Route 543 ( River Road ) and then featuring a toll plaza in the westbound direction.

Across the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, there were plans of extending the freeway northwest from the Interstate 95 interchange.

The climb from the western side of the Nepean River at Menangle up to Mittagong is fairly sustained, a fact that is hard to appreciate at high speed on the modern freeway.

US 611 had been brought into New Jersey by two new bridges over the Delaware River, following a freeway between them that became a part of I-80.
