Edmonton honoured Gretzky by renaming the freeway that passes by the Oilers arena, Capilano Drive, one of Edmonton's busiest, to " Wayne Gretzky Drive " in October 1999.

At this point, the Trans-Canada Highway becomes a high mobility freeway and passes through the Vancouver metropolitan area, heading east through the Fraser Valley to Hope.

Past the intersection with 3rd Avenue, Route 21 becomes a six-lane, double-decker freeway that passes by a cemetery.

The freeway features a southbound exit for Mill Street and a northbound exit for Route 7 and County Route 506 ( Rutgers Street / Belleville Turnpike ) as it passes by houses on the left side of the freeway.

The route is a four-to six-lane divided highway its entire length, with the portion east of the Route 208 interchange in Fair Lawn a partial freeway consisting of interchanges and right-in / right-out intersections with a few businesses along the road, particularly in Paramus, where the route passes through a major shopping area consisting of numerous malls, Englewood, and Fort Lee.

Past this interchange, Route 55 passes under CR 544 and CR 621 before merging into the northbound direction of the Route 42 freeway.

There is no freeway in the town ; Route 24 passes through the neighboring towns to the west.

The North-South Freeway passes through the northwest briefly, but without any connections to the freeway.

The Route 18 freeway traverses the western part while Route 35 passes through in the east.

The only freeway that passes through the city is State Route 18, which passes through the west side of the city on a northeast-southwest route and, with its connection to Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie, is a major route used by vehicles traveling between south King County and Eastern Washington.

The A14 Rheintal freeway / motorway ( Autobahn ) passes by to the west.

The freeway passes near some homes before US 130 splits from I-295.

Continuing to the south of Wyckoffs Mill Road, Route 133 passes through northern Mercer County as a four-lane freeway.

After departing the freeway, it passes residential areas south of Kennewick.

U. S. Route 6, also known as the Mid-Cape Highway on Cape Cod, passes through the town to the north of Otis Air National Guard Base as a four-lane divided freeway.

As it passes through North Richland Hills, the freeway turns towards the southeast briefly before turning back towards the east at SH 26.

Heading eastbound, the freeway curves sharply left around the hillside, splits into ramps to I-81 north and south, and curves right to merge into I-81 south as it passes over the Chenango River.

Many buses come into the airport from Pape ' ete, the main bus being the Fa ' a ' ā airport shuttle which goes along Tahiti's west coast freeway, which passes in front of the main terminal.

The freeway then passes though the San Diego neighborhoods of North Park, Mission Valley, Clairemont, and University City before terminating at I-5 in the Sorrento Valley neighborhood near the Del Mar city limit.

Within Pasco, I-182 / US 12 passes the Broadmoor Mall and continues southeast into Downtown Pasco, where the freeway joins US 395 and passes the Columbia Basin College and Tri-Cities Airport.

The freeway passes through parts of unincorporated Solano County, then heads southeast along the Benicia State Recreation Area ( a marsh ).

Upon crossing into Maryland, it passes the south end of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and becomes the John Hanson Highway, a freeway to Annapolis.

It was one of the first agencies in the U. S. to implement the painting of centerlines on highways statewide ( thanks to June McCarroll ); the first to build a freeway west of the Mississippi ( the Pasadena Freeway ); the first to build a four-level stack interchange ; the first to develop and deploy nonreflective raised pavement markers, better known as Botts ' dots ; and one of the first to implement dedicated freeway-to-freeway connector ramps for high-occupancy vehicle lanes.

Montgomery is the southern terminus of Interstate 85, another north – south freeway ( though running east – west in the city ), which leads northeast to Atlanta.

Local references to this portion of the freeway, including traffic reports, refer to the directions on this section as east for southbound lanes and west for northbound lanes.

Other than replacing older guide signs which previously referenced the official northbound and southbound designations of the freeway, Caltrans made no other changes to mainline or street signing, and as such, pull-through signs, overhead signs, and freeway entrance signs all still reference north and south instead of east and west.

The old 101 routing continues on I-5 in San Diego until Pacific Highway, the old U. S. 101 freeway a little west of current I-5.

Numerous infrastructure connecting adjacent junction as directional Torano it branches in the A25 to Pescara, Teramo to Giulianova on SS80, SS81 to Chieti and on the A14 Bologna-Taranto, exit on the freeway Rieti Valley Jump-Terni, exit west on SS80 to L ' Aquila Teramo, near Tivoli and the connection to the A1 motorway allows easy connections with Naples and Milan, the highway construction has contributed greatly to the economic development of the region.

* Interstate 878 is an unsigned designation for part of New York State Route 878, a short east – west freeway on the north edge of Kennedy Airport.

Although the I-238 goes in an east – west direction from Castro Valley to San Leandro, Caltrans officially signs it as a north – south freeway since the rest of State Route 238 is more north – south.

The freeway was completed from its southern terminus to to the west at the Port Avenue overpass to include the SH 286 interchange in 1963.

By 1965, the freeway had been extended west to Navigation Boulevard.

By 1968, the freeway had been completed an additional further west to Callicoatte Road.

Interstate 57 may eventually be extended west along the U. S Route 60 corridor and then turn south along the future U. S Route 67 freeway corridor and head south to Little Rock, Arkansas.

* 25px U. S. Route 40-a portion of the famous National Road, it connects in the west with Washington County and provides access to the Pittsbugh edge suburb of Washington ; after forming part of a freeway bypass of Uniontown, it becomes a major two lane mountain highway heading toward Maryland

* Interstate 84 ( west ), a freeway extending from Portland, Oregon to Echo, Utah

* The Frederik Meijer Trail which, as of November, 2008, is incomplete, runs east / west mostly along the M-6 freeway and will connect the Kent Trails and the Thornapple Trail when completed.

Several blocks to the west of the old road ( now Whitson Street and Golden State Boulevard ), the freeway bisects the oldest residential neighborhood in Selma.

CalTrans has had plans on the table for several years for SR 138 and SR 18 to create an east / west freeway between Palmdale and I-15.

State Route 48 ( SR 48 ) is a planned east / west freeway connecting from the Antelope Valley Freeway ( SR 14 ) at Avenue D, the current segment terminus for the western SR 138 branch, to Interstate 5 in Gorman.

The freeway turns to the west past the CR 555 interchange and crosses over a Conrail Shared Assets Operations railroad line before entering Millville again.

A freeway has been proposed for construction along this route, passing directly through the Diablo Range west of the city toward the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since that time, the city has grown westward considerably to meet the freeway's north-south path, although urban development west of the freeway has only recently begun to take hold.

California State Route 190, is a major east west freeway in Porterville that heads west to California State Route 99 and east bypassing East Porterville to Springville.
