In May 1979, while at the album release party for her second album, My Father's Eyes, Grant met Gary Chapman, writer of the title track ( and future husband ).

Thy Dungeonman II, a text adventure game from the creators of Homestar Runner, uses cover art that depicts the title character holding a mop in the same way Roger Wilco does on the Space Quest box art.

The cover of Nicholas Andrews's humorous fantasy novel " The Adventure Tournament " is a parody of the Legend of Zelda title screen.

Rather than cover art each rule book, supplement, and adventure had a black cover with the title Book X, Supplement Y or Adventure Z each in a distinct color, numbered in the order in which they were produced.

In 1995 The KLF also did a drum and bass cover of the main title as The Magnificent: it was released under the group alias One World Orchestra on the charity compilation The Help Album.

Wire announced that they would perform none of their older material, hiring The Ex-Lion Tamers, ( a Wire cover band named after a song title from Pink Flag ), as their opening act.

The stark black & white cover art and title were also a reflection of the somber mood of the band during this time.
