Although the track was edited out of the final cut, it would later be re-recorded and released as " Safe " on the B-side of Bowie's 2002 single " Everyone Says ' Hi '".

Also in 2008 the band remixed the Attery Squash song ' Devo Was Right About Everything ' which was released on the B-side to the Watch Us Work It vinyl 12 " single.

The " Carnage " mix was, by comparison, altogether more conventional, featuring enhanced string treatments, a percussive midpoint flurry of vocal samples ( from Allen and the group's B-side interview ), but broadly following the prevailing instrumental-vocal 12-inch structural paradigm.

The principal B-side to the original 12-inch single was a cover version of " War ", which became the subject of an accomplished extended remix in its own right ( subtitled " Hidden ") on the single's third UK 12-inch release, where it was promoted as a double-A-side with " Carnage ".

The download version of Decades Apart included an unreleased recording from 1978, " Wasting Time ", inspired by the band's ' Rock Goes To College ' experience earlier that year ; this track, originally titled " Social Secs " was never released, and the music ended up being reversed and released as " Yellowcake UF6 ", the B-side to " Nuclear Device " in 1979.

Skylarking spawned the controversial track " Dear God ", which was originally issued as the B-side of the album's first single, " Grass ".

The B-side, Nachtzuster ( Nightnurse, written by Henny ) was included in the TV-special and became a classic too.

As Gabler intended, " Rock Around the Clock " was first issued in the spring of 1954 as a B-side to " Thirteen Women ( and Only One Man in Town ).

Former Easterhouse guitarist Ivor Perry was brought in to replace Marr, and the band recorded some new material with him which was never completed, including an early version of " Bengali in Platforms " that was originally intended as the B-side of " Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before ".

In addition, during this time, the band's song " Tomorrow " ( originally an instrumental on the B-side of " Get The Funk Out Ma Face ") was recorded with vocals sung by Tevin Campbell for Quincy Jones ' Back on the Block release in 1989.

They continued the psychedelic theme later in the year with the double EP Magical Mystery Tour and the number one single " Hello, Goodbye " with its B-side " I Am The Walrus ".

In 1986, the first single from XTC's record Skylarking, " Grass ", was eclipsed in the United States by its B-side, " Dear God " – so much so that the record was almost immediately re-released with one song (" Mermaid Smiled ") removed and " Dear God " put in its place, becoming one of the band's better-known " hits.

However, as Soft Cell wrote neither " Tainted Love " nor " Where Did Our Love Go " ( the 7 " B-side track ), they lost the opportunity to make a greater sum of money from songwriting royalties stemming from one of the most popular songs of the 1980s.

Two versions of the single were released in the United Kingdom ; one featured the single in its original form, and the other featured the B-side " Running Around " in place of " 52 Girls ".

More complex issues began to arise as the typical A-and-B-side format of singles gave way to 12 inch singles and maxi-singles, many of which contained more than one B-side.

" System " was intended as their first single, but they and the producers were unhappy with it, and it became the " B-side " of their first release " Showing Out ( Get Fresh at the Weekend )", which reached number three on the British charts in 1986 and number one on the USA Dance charts.

This version is a different one than the B-side version.

The latter film inspired The Watchband's next single ; " Are You Gonna Be There ( At The Love-In )", which was written and recorded in one day, the single was released with the B-side " No Way Out ", an instrumental that spawned from a studio warm-up with spontaneous vocals that Ed Cobb later took credit for.

George's first band, The Factory, formed in 1965, and released at least one single on the Uni label, " Smile, Let Your Life Begin " co-authored by George, with the B-side " When I Was An Apple ".
