In the United States, the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act is meant to provide compensation for workers directly affected by international trade agreements.

Statutory authority for the Commission's responsibilities is provided primarily by the Tariff Act of 1930, the Agricultural Adjustment Act, the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, the Trade Act of 1974, the Trade Agreements Act of 1979, the Trade and Tariff Act of 1984, the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988, and the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.

Trade Adjustment Assistance ( TAA ) is a program of the United States government to act as a way to reduce the damaging impact of imports felt by certain sectors of the U. S. economy.

The current structure features four components of Trade Adjustment Assistance: for Workers, Firms, Farmers, and Communities.

Each Cabinet level Department was tasked with a different sector of the overall Trade Adjustment Assistance program.

EDA, through a national network of 11 Trade Adjustment Assistance Centers ( TAACs ), provides technical assistance on a cost-shared basis to U. S. manufacturing, production, and service firms in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

The treaty was created to extend the multilateral trading system to service sector, in the same way the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade ( GATT ) provides such a system for merchandise trade.

The HSR Act provides that parties must not complete certain mergers, acquisitions or transfers of securities or assets, including grants of executive compensation, until they have made a detailed filing with the U. Under the 1979 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade ( GATT ) Government Procurement Code, the U. S .- Israel Free Trade Agreement, the U. S .- Canada Free Trade Agreement, and the World Trade Organization ( WTO ) 1996 Agreement on Government Procurement ( GPA ), the United States provides access to the government procurement of certain U. S. agencies for goods from the other parties to those agreements.

The United States Federal Trade Commission provides consumers with information regarding timeshares.

The Basic Law of the Hong Kong provides that it shall be a separate customs territory and may, using the name ' Hong Kong, China ', participate in relevant international organisations and international trade agreements, such as the World Trade Organization.

It also provides ab-initio training for airmen and airwomen of the Aerospace Systems Operators Trade Group and delivers promotion courses for selected airmen and airwomen of the Aerospace Systems Operators and Aerospace Systems Managers Trade Group.
