In 1995, Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg presented their manifesto for a new cinematic movement which they called Dogme 95.

The U. S. was also the scene for Dear Wendy ( 2005 ), a feature film directed by von Trier's " Dogme-brother " Thomas Vinterberg from a script by von Trier.

Thomas Vinterberg ( born 19 May 1969 ) is a Danish film director who, along with Lars von Trier, co-founded the Dogme 95 movement in filmmaking, which established rules for simplifying movie production.

Since the late 1990s, the Dogme movement and figures such as Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen and Lone Scherfig have continued to contribute to the international success of Danish cinema.
