The feud first started on the March 7 edition of Raw when Orton challenged Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania billed as " Legend vs. Legend Killer " match.

Jindrak was thrown out before the match started and although Reigns managed to hold his own, Undertaker ultimately won the match.

This started a chain reaction of feuds, originally planned to lead to a match at WrestleMania 21 in which The Undertaker would partner with Kane to take on Snitsky and Heidenreich.

It originally started out as a In Your House pay-per-view event in April and featured the infamous Inferno match between The Undertaker and Kane.

Undertaker came out, accompanied by Druids carrying a casket, and the two started attacking each other.

The stable did not last long, and Callis eventually started managing the new tag team of Faarooq and Bradshaw, Hell's Henchmen, until he was fired for dubious reasons-following which they found a new leader in the Undertaker, became the Acolytes of his Ministry, and broke away to make their mark as the Acolytes Protection Agency.

At this point, Kane and Undertaker started a feud with each other, the basic premise being Kane and Paul Bearer accusing Undertaker of intentionally starting a fire which resulted in the burning of their funeral home, the scarring of Kane's face, and the death ( fake ) of Undertaker and Kane's mother.

He later began a rivalry against fan favorite the Undertaker by costing him a potential victory in his match against Hart at the 1996 Royal Rumble.

This led to an intense, bitter rivalry between The Undertaker and Kane with Bearer very much involved.

A draw occurs if both opponents are simultaneously disqualified ( as via countout or if the referee loses complete control of the match and both opponents attack each other with no regard to being in a match, like Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker at 2002 Unforgiven ), neither opponent is able to answer a ten-count, or both opponents simultaneously win the match.

Certain colours of lighting have been associated with specific wrestlers ; for instance, blue lighting for Undertaker, green lighting for Triple H, D-Generation X, and Shane McMahon, red and orange lighting for Kane, multicoloured lighting for John Morrison, gold lighting for Goldust, pink lighting for Val Venis, and so forth.

The evolution of more brutal matches with different stipulations to increase viewership worked to a major extent, mainly through the furthering of Hell in a Cell ( notably its second appearance featuring The Undertaker vs. Mankind ) and the Inferno match ( introduced by Kane against The Undertaker ).

The four members adopted Gravedigga alter egos for their work with the group: The RZA became Rzarector, Poetic became the Grym Reaper, Prince Paul became the Undertaker, and Frukwan became the Gatekeeper.

McMahon began appearing regularly on WWE in 1999 as a part of a storyline with The Undertaker.

The Undertaker chose to have Christian punished for his trespass, but Edge and Gangrel stood by him and betrayed The Undertaker leading to a brief feud with the Ministry.

The first match ended with a countout victory for The Undertaker but no champion was crowned due to the circumstances.

The Undertaker defeated Edge, and after the match, Undertaker chokeslammed Edge off the top of a ladder and through the ring canvas, with flames rising from the hole.

DiBiase and Dusty captained rival teams at Survivor Series, with DiBiase's mystery partner turning out to be the debuting Undertaker.

DiBiase also renewed his connection with the Undertaker after the latter's six-month hiatus after the January Royal Rumble.

At A Cold Day In Hell, Austin had The Undertaker down with the Stunner, but while distracted with a timely interference by Brian Pillman, Stone Cold's old tag partner, Undertaker nailed Austin with a Tombstone Piledriver and achieved the victory.

There, Austin lost the WWF Championship to Kane in a First Blood match after the Undertaker intervened and hit him with a chair while the ref was incapacitated, despite Stone Cold having knocked Kane unconscious and thwarted an earlier intervention by Mick Foley.

The Undertaker interfered and hit Austin with a shovel, earning Austin a disqualification victory, but The Rock kept the championship.

However, after he won it, The Undertaker came and hit him with the title belt, leading to a First Blood match between the two at Fully Loaded where Mr. McMahon stipulated that if Austin lost he would never be able to wrestle for the WWF Championship again, and if Austin won, he would never see McMahon again.

Austin won after interference from X-Pac, hitting The Undertaker with a TV camera and gave McMahon a goodbye Stone Cold Stunner.

For example, Eddie Guerrero would arrive into the arena in a lowrider, The Undertaker ( in his " American Bad Ass " biker gimmick ), Chuck Palumbo, Tara, and the Disciples of Apocalypse on motorcycles, The Mexicools on riding lawn mowers, JBL in his limousine, Alberto Del Rio arriving into the arena in various luxury cars, " Stone Cold " Steve Austin driving an all-terrain vehicle, and perhaps most recently Camacho and Hunico entering on a bicycle.

The Undertaker stalked and abducted McMahon, culminating in almost marrying her in the middle of the ring before being rescued by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Also, in the year 2000, Stone Cold Steve Austin competed in a 6 man Hell in a Cell match at Armageddon for the WWF Championship, against Triple H, the Undertaker, Rikishi, Kurt Angle and The Rock.

The following year at WrestleMania 13, a submission match pitted Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin against one another in a bout that received much acclaim and The Undertaker defeated Psycho Sid for the WWF Championship in the main event.

Longtime WWE announcers Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler brawled in a match officiated by Stone Cold Steve Austin, while Triple H failed in his attempt to avenge Shawn Michaels ' loss to The Undertaker from a year prior.

With its " Attitude Era " programming and the popularity of its wrestlers such as The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Triple H, Edge & Christian, Dudley Boyz and Kurt Angle, the WWF surpassed its arch-rival WCW.

The main event between Chris Jericho and Triple H for the WWF Undisputed Championship received the highest rating out of all the matches on the card of 8 out of 10 stars, the match between The Rock and Hulk Hogan received a rating of 7 out of 10 stars, the match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Scott Hall received a rating of 6 out of 10 stars, the No disqualification match between The Undertaker and Ric Flair was rated 7. 5 out of 10 stars and Four Corners Elimination match for the WWF Tag Team Championship between Billy and Chuck, The APA, The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz being rated 5 out of 10 stars.

At WWF Invasion, Team WCW / ECW ( Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, Rhyno, and The Dudley Boyz ) defeated Team WWF ( Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Kane, Kurt Angle, and Chris Jericho ) in a ten-man tag team match billed as the " Inaugural Brawl ".

All of this led to a " Winner Take All " match at Survivor Series 2001, which pitted Team WWF ( The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane, and The Big Show ) against Team Alliance ( Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, and Shane McMahon ).

The Undertaker continued to feud with Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin, which involved several controversial segments in which the Undertaker hit Austin in the head with a shovel giving him a concussion ( storyline ), and the following week the Undertaker and Paul Bearer attacked, sedated Austin with ether and abducted Austin out of his hospital room, put Austin in a hearse, took Austin to a cemetery of some sort, attempted to have Austin buried alive, then Undertaker changed his mind and he and Paul Bearer took Austin to a funeral home and tried to have Austin embalmed alive.

The Undertaker attempted to sacrifice her the following night but the sacrifice was disrupted by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Undertaker denied setting up the attack and teamed up with Stone Cold to face Kane and Mankind in the first ever tag-team Hell in a Cell match.

Stone Cold showed a new, more vicious side to him as he would attack wrestlers like Brothers of Destruction ( The Undertaker and Kane ), Hardy Boyz ( Matt and Jeff ) and even Lita with the steel chair.

McMahon restarted a long-running feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin when, in December 1998, he made Austin face the Undertaker in a Buried Alive match with the Royal Rumble qualification on the line.

The second time she was kidnapped, The Undertaker attempted to marry her whilst she was forcefully tied to the Ministry's crucifix, but she was saved by Stone Cold Steve Austin.
