The characters were created by publisher / editor John L. Goldwater, written by Vic Bloom and drawn by Bob Montana.

In Pep Comics # 22, December 1941, writer Vic Bloom and artist Bob Montana published Archie Andrews ' first adventure, beginning with " Chick " showing off for his new neighbor, Betty Cooper.

* The four categories of the Dove always correspond to classic theme skits: one is always " George's Song ", another is always " a song in the club style ", and another is always either a spoof video clip or a performance by the " Hartlepool Film Re-enactment Society " in which Vic and Bob use a wendy house and dolls on the end of sticks to play out a skit featuring characters from a well-known film.

The video clips ( and the " Hartlepool re-enactments ") are removed from the Dove round and replaced by " celebrity questions ", in which a question is asked in a video clip by Vic or Bob while dressed up as another celebrity.

There he influenced the early careers of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, Simon Day, Chris Lynam, Martin Soan, Harry Enfield and many others to whom he gave their first gigs.

Vic Reeves ( born 24 January 1959, real name Jim Moir ) and Bob Mortimer ( born 23 May 1959 ), more commonly known simply as Vic and Bob or Reeves and Mortimer, are a British comedy double act.

Laurence Olivier played Malcolm in the 1929 production and Macbeth in 1937 at the Old Vic Theatre in a production that saw the Vic's artistic director Lilian Baylis pass away the night before it opened.

Iachimo was played by Geoffrey Keen, whose father Malcolm had played Jachimo with Ashcroft at the Old Vic in 1932.

Burton showed a talent for English and Welsh literature at grammar school, and demonstrated an excellent memory, though his consuming interest was sports – rugby ( in fact famous Welsh centre Bleddyn Williams said in his autobiography that Burton could have gone far as a player ), cricket, and table tennis He later said, " I would rather have played for Wales at Cardiff Arms Park than Hamlet at the Old Vic.

Laurence Olivier announced her birth to the audience at a performance of Hamlet at the Old Vic, when he said that Laertes ( played by Sir Michael ) had a daughter.

Another legendary Richard was Maurice Evans, who first played the role at the Old Vic in 1934 and then created a sensation in his 1937 Broadway performance, revived it in New York in 1940 and then immortalised it on television for the Hallmark Hall of Fame in 1954.

In England, Paul Scofield, who played it at the Old Vic in 1952, was considered the definitive Richard of more modern times.

Robert Donat played Becket at the Old Vic in 1953 in a production directed by Robert Helpmann.

Commenting on Australia's victory, the team's vice-captain Vic Richardson said, "... we could have played any team without Bradman, but we could not have played the blind school without Clarrie Grimmett ".

At the Embassy Theatre in March 1937 he played Anderson in a mystery play, The Bat, before returning to the Old Vic in April, succeeding Marius Goring as Chorus in Henry V. Other roles that year included Christopher Drew in Daisy Fisher's comedy A Ship Comes Home at the St Martin's Theatre in May and Larry Starr in Philip Leaver's comedy Three Set Out at the Embassy in June, before joining John Gielgud's Company at the Queen's Theatre, September 1937 to April 1938, where he played Bolingbroke in Richard II, Charles Surface in The School for Scandal and Baron Tusenbach in Three Sisters.

Joining the Old Vic Company at the New Theatre for its 1949 – 50 season, he played:

Redgrave played ( and co-presented ) Lancelot Dodd MA in Arthur Watkyn's Out of Bounds at Wyndham's Theatre in November 1962, following it at the Old Vic with his portrayal of Claudius opposite the Hamlet of Peter O ' Toole in 22 October 1963.

At the Young Vic Theatre, he created the title role in Scapino, which he co-adapted with Frank Dunlop, and played Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew.

After touring in South Africa in 1929, he played two seasons at the Old Vic and two seasons at the Malvern summer theatre.

The riff in " Silhouettes " has been variously credited to Jimmy Page, Big Jim Sullivan and Vic Flick ; however, according to Keith Hopwood and Karl Green, Leckenby replaced Flick in the studio and played the signature riff under Most's direction.

Phillips played Juliet opposite Michael Byrne's Romeo in Juliet and her Romeo at the Bristol Old Vic from 10 March until 24 April 2010.
