According to the Weimar Republic 1928 Law on Firearms & Ammunition, firearms acquisition or carrying permits were “ only to be granted to persons of undoubted reliability, and — in the case of a firearms carry permit — only if a demonstration of need is set forth .” The Nazis replaced this law with the Weapons Law of March 18, 1938, which was very similar in structure and wording, but relaxed gun control requirements for the general population.

Weimar () is a city in Germany famous for its cultural heritage.

It is most often recognised as the place where Germany's first democratic constitution was signed after the First World War, giving its name to the Weimar Republic period in German politics, of 1918 – 1933.

His eldest son, Gustav, wrote several well-known historical works, namely, Gustav Adolf ( Leipzig, 1869 – 1870 ), a study of the Gustavus Adolphus, the King of Sweden during the Thirty Years War, and Herzog Bernhard von Weimar ( Leipzig, 1885 ), a study of Duke Bernhard, another able Protestant General during the Thirty Years War ; an Historischer Handatlas ( Leipzig, 1885 ), a geographic analysis of historical and territorial changes, and several writings on various events of the Thirty Years ' War.

Most likely, Bach composed the concertos over several years while Kapellmeister at Köthen, and possibly extending back to his employment at Weimar ( 1708 – 17 ).

The Weimar Republic planned to send him and several other noted German generals ( von Mackensen, among others ) to reform the National Revolutionary Army of China, but this was cancelled due to the limitations of the Treaty of Versailles and the image problems with selling such a noted general out as a mercenary.

Less than a month after Adolf Hitler ’ s appointment as chancellor in 1933, the Reichstag Fire Decree invoked Article 48 of the Weimar Constitution, suspending several constitutional protections on civil rights.

From the grand-duke of Saxe-Weimar he received a flattering invitation to take up his residence at Weimar, where several of his plays were first performed.
