In his book Introducing Cultural Studies, Ziauddin Sardar lists the following five main characteristics of cultural studies:

* Ziauddin Sardar who advocates the creation of a modern Islamic science to tackle problems facing Muslims today.

* The Islamization of science or the marginalization of Islam: The positions of Seyyed Hossein Nasr and Ziauddin Sardar

Ziauddin Sardar points out that some of the greatest Muslim scientists, such as Ibn al-Haytham and Abū Rayhān al-Bīrūnī who were pioneers of scientific method, were themselves followers of the Ash ' ari school of Islamic theology.

In the face of the tremendous poverty, corruption and disillusionment with conventional politics, the political ideal of the Islamic state has been criticized by many espousing liberal movements within Islam and for example by Ziauddin Sardar, as being utopian and not offering real solutions.

Ziauddin Sardar was born in Pakistan, but educated and brought up in Britain.

Z. M. Dagar was born in the town of Udaipur, Rajasthan and began musical study with his father, Ustad Ziauddin Khan Dagar, court musician for the Maharaj of Udaipur.

Ziauddin defected from the Pakistan Army and crossed over the border near Abbottabad, West Pakistan, into India.

It is claimed by the 14th century historiographer Ziauddin Barani that his influence on the Muslims of Delhi was such that a paradigm shift was effected in their outlook towards worldly matters.

* Ziauddin Sardar, a London-based scholar who specializes in the future of Islam, science and cultural relations

Ziauddin Barani ( 1285 – 1357 ) was a Muslim historian and political thinker who lived in Delhi Sultanate ( present day North India ) during Muhammad bin Tughlaq and Firuz Shah's reign.

There were Major General Nazir Ahmad, who was an Ahmadi ; Air Commodore Mohammad Khan Janjua was a Sunni but with no religious ideology ; Major Hasan Khan was a Shia ; Brigadier Latif was into the Deobandi ideology and read a lot of religious books ; Brigadier Sadiq, Lt-Col Ziauddin and Captain Khizar Hayat had faith in pirs and murshids ; Lt-Col Niaz Mohammad Arbab was a good-natured person, belonging to an affluent and influential Arbab family of Tekhal Bala, near Peshawar.

Even those Hindus who converted to Islam were not immune from persecution, which was illustrated by the Muslim Caste System in India as established by Ziauddin al-Barani in the Fatawa-i Jahandari.

Ali Khan joined hands with academician Sir Ziauddin Ahmed, taking to organize the Muslim students communities into one student union, advocating for the provisional rights of the Muslim state.

Upon hearing the announcement of Nawaz Sharif, replacing Pervez Musharraf by Khwaja Ziauddin, the third replacement of the top military commander of the country in less than two years, local military commanders begun to mobilize troops towards Islamabad from nearby Rawalpindi.

He also quickly purged the government of political enemies, notably Ziauddin and national airline chief Shahid Khaqan Abbassi.

Early references to Wakf in India, can be found in 13th century CE work, Insba-i-Mahru by Aynul Mulk Mulltani, described by historian Ziauddin Barani as one of the officers of Jalal ud din Firuz Khilji ( r. 1290-1296 ) first Indian ruler of the Delhi sultanate and the founder of the Khilji dynasty.

* In August 2012 a male patient was admitted to Ziauddin hospital Karachi, suffering from typical signs of meningitis but later it was Discovered PAM. He died within 3 days.
