* 1907 – Pike Place Market, a popular tourist destination and registered historic district in Seattle, Washington, opened.

In 1290 the funeral procession of Eleanor of Castile stopped overnight in the town and an Eleanor cross was put up at a cost of £ 100 in the Market Place.

The flat actually belonged to singer Harry Nilsson, who was loaning it to Moon, The flat, No. 12 at 9 Curzon Place ( now called Curzon Square ), Shepherd Market, Mayfair, was the same property where singer Cass Elliot died four years earlier.

Other examples of Rouse Company " festival marketplace " developments include South Street Seaport in New York City, Market East in Philadelphia, Harborplace in Baltimore, St. Louis Union Station in St. Louis, Downtown Portland's Pioneer Place, and the Riverwalk Marketplace of New Orleans.

Executions took place in the town's Market Place on Saturdays, and the machine remained in use until Oliver Cromwell forbade capital punishment for petty theft.

To the west it included Bell Street and the Market Place.

The order of importance was the other way round, when the Boston quarter of Skirbeck developed at the head of the Haven, which lies under the present Market Place.

The market, held on Saturdays and Wednesdays, in the Market Place and also on Wide Bargate on Wednesday.

Market Place and Strait Bargate are the retail hub of the town centre.

Following the Bloody Assizes, twelve local supporters of Monmouth were hanged and quartered in the Market Place of the town.

Within Shepton Mallet there are several distinct areas which originated as separate communities around the central point of the church and Market Place.

The town centre is small, basically consisting of two streets: High Street, which runs south from the Market Place towards the Townsend Retail Park, and the pedestrianised Town Street which runs north from the Market Place to Waterloo Bridge.

To the east, separated from the Market Place by the Academy complex, is the parish church of St Peter and St Paul.

The town centre is fairly small with a high proportion of empty premises in Market Place and the north end of High Street adjacent to Market Place.

The 1977 epic war film A Bridge Too Far, depicting the events of Operation Market Garden in September 1944, has a lengthy scene showing the construction of a Bailey bridge at Son in the Netherlands by units of both the American 101st Airborne Division and the British XXX Corps.

Westbound Route 49 ( Broadway ) in downtown Salem, New Jersey | Salem at the intersection with New Jersey Route 45 | Route 45 ( Market Street ). Route 49 heads south on Broadway from an interchange with the Delaware Memorial Bridge extension of the New Jersey Turnpike ( Interstate 295 / U. S. Currently as of the end of 2009, unmarked freight cars particularly covered hoppers are now parked and being stored along the southbound track in Perkasie between Market Street and Park Avenue, from Park Avenue to the Old Bethlehem Pike Bridge, and so on to Meetinghouse Road in Telford.

In addition to Fleck Hall on the campus of Wyoming Seminary, the Kingston Armory and Market Street Bridge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

That same year, the line was extended along the north side of Ross Hill to Edwardsville where transfers could be made to a similar railway that ran across the Market Street Bridge to Wilkes-Barre.

Below Trent Falls, the Humber passes the junction with the Market Weighton Canal on the north shore, the confluence of the River Ancholme on the south shore ; between North Ferriby and South Ferriby and under the Humber Bridge ; between Barton-upon-Humber on the south bank and Kingston upon Hull on the North bank ( where the River Hull joins ), then meets the North Sea between Cleethorpes on the Lincolnshire side and the long and thin ( but rapidly changing ) headland of Spurn Head to the North.

The divisions of the City are linked by three bridges: the Swing Bridge, located at Market Square and North Front Street ; the Belchina Bascule Bridge at the Douglas Jones Street and Youth for the Future Drive junction, and the Belcan Bridge linking Central American Boulevard and the Roundabout leading to the Northern Highway and Caribbean Shores.

For looping the Golden Gate Bridge, for flying at low level down Market Street in San Francisco and for blowing the clothes off of an Oakland woman's clothesline, Bong was reprimanded by General George C. Kenney, commanding officer of the Fourth Air Force, who told him, " If you didn't want to fly down Market Street, I wouldn't have you in my Air Force, but you are not to do it any more and I mean what I say.

The City of Philadelphia rented Robert Morris's city house at 190 High Street ( now 524-30 Market Street ) for Washington's presidential residence.

The first president occupied the Market Street mansion from November 1790 to March 1797, and altered it in ways that may have influenced the design of the White House.

President John Adams also occupied the Market Street mansion from March 1797 to May 1800.
