but his principal theme is that the intrigues of the Tories, `` our Popish or Jacobite Party '', pose an immediate threat to Church and State.

... We are now entering a period of our history where our Church development and family orientation are strong enough that we can turn our attention toward ending the widespread misunderstanding about our founder and the Unification movement.

" If anyone says that the blessed Apostle Peter was not established by the Lord Christ as the chief of all the apostles, and the visible head of the whole militant Church, or, that the same received great honour but did not receive from the same our Lord Jesus Christ directly and immediately the primacy in true and proper jurisdiction: let him be anathema.

We, adhering faithfully to the tradition received from the beginning of the Christian faith, to the glory of God, our Saviour, the elevation of the Catholic religion and the salvation of Christian peoples, with the approbation of the sacred Council, teach and explain that the dogma has been divinely revealed: that the Roman Pontiff, when he speaks ex cathedra, that is, when carrying out the duty of the pastor and teacher of all Christians by his supreme apostolic authority he defines a doctrine of faith or morals to be held by the universal Church, through the divine assistance promised him in blessed Peter, operates with that infallibility with which the divine Redeemer wished that His church be instructed in defining doctrine on faith and morals ; and so such definitions of the Roman Pontiff from himself, but not from the consensus of the Church, are unalterable.

The Chapel of the Tablet at the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum allegedly houses the original Ark of the Covenant.

The object is currently kept under guard in a treasury near the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion and is used occasionally in ritual processions.

The glorification of Father Herman was performed on August 9, 1970, at Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Kodiak, Alaska by the OCA with parallel services at the Synodal Cathedral of Our Lady, Joy of all who Sorrow in San Francisco by the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia ( ROCOR ).

For the Roman Catholic Church the dogma of the Immaculate Conception gained additional significance from the reputed apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes in 1858.

The Hawaii Catholic Church and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace are established as a result.

The influence of Whitefield and Lady Huntingdon on the Church of England was a factor in the founding of the Free Church of England in 1844.

To give two examples, the marble statue of Cristo della Minerva ( church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Rome ) was covered by added drapery, as it remains today, and the statue of the naked child Jesus in Madonna of Bruges ( The Church of Our Lady in Bruges, Belgium ) remained covered for several decades.

Richard's naked body was then exposed, possibly in the collegiate foundation of the Annunciation of Our Lady, before being buried at Greyfriars Church, Leicester.

Tradition attributes to Dobrawa the establishment of the Holy Trinity and St. Wit Churches in Gniezno and the Church of the Virgin Mary in Ostrów Tumski, Poznań.

# Council of Ephesus ( 431 ) repudiated Nestorianism, proclaimed the Virgin Mary as the Theotokos (" Birth-giver to God ", " God-bearer ", " Mother of God "), repudiated Pelagianism, and reaffirmed the Nicene Creed. The Church Fathers interpret Ezekiel's vision of the human likeness upon the sapphire throne () as a prophecy of the Incarnation of the Logos from the Theotokos ( Virgin Mary ), who in many ancient church hymns is called the " living Throne of God ".

Some hymns praise or address individual saints, particularly the Blessed Virgin Mary ; such hymns are particularly prevalent in Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and to some extent " High Church " Anglicanism.

The Immaculate Conception is a dogma of the Catholic Church maintaining that from the moment when she was conceived the Blessed Virgin Mary was kept free of original sin and was filled with the sanctifying grace normally conferred during baptism.

The Council of Trent decreed: " If anyone shall say that a man once justified can sin no more, nor lose grace, and that therefore he who falls and sins was never truly justified ; or, on the contrary, that throughout his whole life he can avoid all sins even venial sins, except by a special privilege of God, as the Church holds in regard to the Blessed Virgin: let him be anathema.

On 4 September 1483, referring to the feast as that of " the Conception of Immaculate Mary ever Virgin ", he condemned both those who called it mortally sinful and heretical to hold that the " glorious and immaculate mother of God was conceived without the stain of original sin " and those who called it mortally sinful and heretical to hold that " the glorious Virgin Mary was conceived with original sin ", since, he said, " up to this time there has been no decision made by the Roman Church and the Apostolic See.

In the Church of England's Common Worship prayer book, 8 December is designated a Lesser Festival of the Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( without the adjective " immaculate ").

The Eastern Orthodox Church and those Eastern Catholic Churches which follow the Byzantine Rite see Jacob's dream as a prophecy of the Incarnation of the Logos, whereby Jacob's ladder is understood as a symbol of the Theotokos ( Virgin Mary ), who, according to Orthodox theology, united heaven and earth in her womb.

In the Catholic Church the month of May is dedicated to and honors the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The date was chosen in the early years of the Greek state so that it falls on the day of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, strengthening the ties between the Greek Orthodox Church and the newly-found state.

The Eastern Orthodox Church liturgical calendar begins on 1 September – proceeding annually from the Nativity of the Theotokos to the celebration of Jesus ' birth in the winter ( Christmas ), through his death and resurrection in the spring ( Pascha / Easter ), to his Ascension and the Assumption of his mother ( Dormition of the Theotokos / Virgin Mary ) in the summer.

In the 6th century, religious narrations from local Christians about the Virgin Mary began to spark interest in the site among pilgrims, who founded the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation at the site of a freshwater spring, today known as Mary's Well.
