For about two months at the end of 1974, Bill Bruford played drums with Gong.

In November 2007, Daevid Allen held a series of concerts in Brazil, with a branch of Gong, which was called Daevid Allen and Gong Global Family ( Daevid Allen on vocals and guitar, Josh Pollock on guitar, megaphone and percussion ; Fred Barley on drums and percussion ; Fabio Golfetti on guitar, Gabriel Costa on bass, Marcelo Ringel on flute and tenor saxophone ), along with his other band University of Errors ( Allen, Josh Pollock, Michael Clare, Fred Barley ).

Gong will be touring Europe in the fall of 2012 with the lineup of Allen, Smyth, Sturt, East, Orlando Allen on drums, and Fabio Golfetti on guitar.

He moved to France permanently in 1984, and formed a touring band with François Ovide ( guitar and trombone ), Denis van Hecke from Aksak Maboul ( cello ), Mireille Bauer ( formerly of Gong ) ( stand-up drums and percussion ) and Blegvad's brother, Kristoffer Blegvad ( backing vocals ).

Dindisc arranged for the song " Messages " to be re-recorded ( produced by Gong bassist Mike Howlett ) and released as a single ( right ) – this gave the band their first hit.

") The second single, " Get It On ( Bang A Gong )," went to number 22 in the UK and number 9 in the U. S., while competing against the Duran Duran single " A View to a Kill ," which was a US number one.

He also sent up his somewhat pompous image with a single appearance as a " contestant " on The Gong Show in 1977.

In 1977 Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth recruited the band to tour with them under the name Planet Gong, and this combination released a live album Floating Anarchy 1977 and a single " Opium for the People ".

But according to the Bamboo Annals, the Gonghe regency was ruled by a single person — the Count of Gong ( 共伯 ), whose name was He ( 和 ).

He has been a session musician and appeared in the recording of the hit single " Get It On ( Bang a Gong )" by T. Rex, and recordings by Linda Lewis, Christine Harwood amongst others.

The central 610 Office is headed by a high-ranking member of the Communist Party ’ s Politburo Standing Committee, and it frequently directs other state and party organs in the anti-Falun Gong campaign.

On 17 June 1999, the 610 Office came under the newly created Central Leading Group for Dealing with Falun Gong, headed by Politburo Standing Committee member Li Lanqing.

The band grew out of a line-up of friends in mid-1972 consisting of Phil Miller ( guitar, from Matching Mole ), Steve Miller (†) ( keyboards from Caravan and Phil's brother ), Pip Pyle (†) ( s, from Gong ) and Richard Sinclair ( bass and vocals ), from Caravan.

Others who have, albeit briefly, played in Gong include Bill Bruford, Brian Davison and Chris Cutler.

Gong played at the second Glastonbury Festival in June 1971 ( the performance being issued as a side-long track on the 3-LP vinyl festival record release, later re-mixed and re-edited and released by GAS in 2001 ), followed by a UK tour in Autumn.

More recently in June 2008, Gong played two concerts in London: Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank ( opening Massive Attack's Meltdown festival ) and the Forum, with Allen, Smyth, Hillage, Giraudy, Howlett, Taylor and Travis among the lineup.

Gong played at the Big Chill festival in the UK between on 9 August 2009 with Allen, Smyth, Hillage, Giraudy, Sturt, Taylor and Travis in the line up, at the Beautiful Days Festival in Devon, 23 August 2009, and at the Lounge on the Farm festival near Canterbury in the summer of 2009.

Gong played four UK live shows in September 2010 with Allen, Smyth, Hillage, Giraudy, Sturt, Taylor and Ian East: O2 ABC Glasgow ( 9th ), Manchester Academy ( 10th ), HMV Forum London ( 11th ) and HMV Institute Birmingham ( 20th ).

The band recorded several demos and played at a Paris Gong reunion concert in May 1977, but disbanded when Summers left to join Copeland and Sting's other project, The Police.

Dino has also played with Andy Anderson ( The Cure ), Gilli Smyth, Didier Malherbe ( Gong ), Captain Sensible ( The Damned ) and, in America, Question Mark & the Mysterians.

The stage hosted many bands including Hawkwind, Gong, Doctor and the Medics, Flux of Pink Indians, Buster Blood Vessel, Omega Tribe, Crass, Selector, Dexys Midnight Runners, Thompson Twins, Bronz, The Raincoats, Brent Black Music Co-op, Amazulu, Wishbone Ash, Man, Benjamin Zephaniah, Inner City Unit, Here and Now, Cardiacs, The Enid, Roy Harper, Jimmy Page, Ted Chippington, Zorch and Ozric Tentacles all played for free.

Li also played at the 2004 Summer Olympics, losing to Gong Ruina of China in the round of 32.

Ponsana played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics, defeating Miho Tanaka of Japan in the first round but losing to Gong Ruina of China in the round of 16.

Frequently played with Jae-hung and later married Gong.

He has a longtime girl friend, Mi-rae ( played by Gong Hyo-jin ) who is a cheerleader of LG Twins.

Tim Blake ( synthesiser player on Planet Gong ) produced a solo album called " Blake's New Jerusalem ", including a 20 minute track with lyrics from Blake's poem.

One written by the scribe So / Su Dan ( 素統 ) is dated 270 AD and corresponds closely with the Heshang Gong version.

He is usually depicted with Yue Gong Yue Guang Pu Sa ( The Bright Lunar Bodhisattva of the Lunar Palace ) / Yue Gong Yue Guang Tian Zi ( The Bright Lunar Prince of the Lunar Palace ) / Yue Gong Yue Guang Zun Tian Pu Sa ( The Greatly Revered Bright Lunar Prince of the Lunar Palace / one of the 20 or 24 guardian devas known as Candraprabha in Sanskrit.

Tai Yang Xing Jun is usually depicted with the Star Lord of the Lunar Palace, Lord of the Moon, Yue Gong Tai Yin Xing Jun ( Tai Yin Niang Niang / Lady Tai Yin ).

Falun Gong is most frequently identified with the qigong movement in China.

Falun Gong exercises can be practiced individually or in group settings, and can be performed for varying lengths of time in accordance with the needs and abilities of the individual practitioner.

According to Hu Ping, " Falun Gong deals only with purifying the individual through exercise, and does not touch on social or national concerns.

This, coupled with the literal translation style of the texts, which imitate the tone and cadences of Li's colloquial Chinese speech, can make Falun Gong scriptures difficult to approach for Westerners.

In the West, Falun Gong is frequently classified as a religion on the basis of its theological and moral teachings, its concerns with spiritual cultivation and transformation, and its extensive body of scripture.

Cheris Shun-ching considers cults to be new religious movements that focus on the individual experience of the encounter with the sacred rather than collective worship, and to that end describes Falun Gong as an " NRM with cult-like characteristics " ( Chan defines a " cult " differently than as the term is usually understood.

Falun Gong is centralized in that spiritual authority is vested in the corpus of teachings of the founder, Li Hongzhi, but organizationally it is decentralized with local branches and assistants afforded no special privileges, authority, or titles.

Practitioners of Falun Gong have little to no contact with Li, except through the study of his teachings.

Falun Gong is practiced by tens, and possibly hundreds of thousands outside China, with the largest communities found in Taiwan and North American cities with large Chinese populations, such as New York and Toronto.

According to Richard Madsen, Chinese scientists with doctorates from prestigious American universities who practice Falun Gong claim that modern physics ( for example, superstring theory ) and biology ( specifically the pineal gland's function ) provide a scientific basis for their beliefs.

Falun Gong representatives attempted to register with other government entities, but were rebuffed.

The article set off a wave of criticism in the official press, with twenty major newspapers also issuing criticisms of Falun Gong.

Falun Gong practitioners responded with peaceful protests, which was considered audacious under the circumstances, and lobbying of the station.

Based on interviews with over 12, 000 Falun Gong adherents in Guangdong province, they stated that they were " convinced the exercises and effects of Falun Gong are excellent.
