Rockville, along with neighboring Gaithersburg and Bethesda, is at the core of the Interstate 270 Technology Corridor which is home to numerous software and biotechnology companies as well as several federal government institutions.

Gaithersburg is divided into east and west sections, separated by Interstate 270.

A spur between Frederick, Maryland, and Georgetown in Washington, D. C., now Maryland Route 355, bears various local names but is sometimes referred to as the Washington National Pike ; it is now paralleled by Interstate 270 between the Capital Beltway ( I-495 ) and Frederick.

Malvern is connected on road by Interstate 30, U. S. Route 270, and U. S. Route 67.

Clarksburg is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Northern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located along the Interstate 270 technology corridor about 4 miles north of Germantown, MD.

The main artery for the area is Darnestown Road ( Designated as MD 28 west of its intersection with Key West Avenue ) which connects North Potomac with the other affluent communities nearby ( Potomac and Bethesda ) and provides access to Interstate 270 ( Exit-6 ).

It expanded faster following construction of Interstate 270 and U. S. Route 40.

Located west of the western city limits of St. Louis, Ellisville is located approximately south of Interstate 64, 5 miles north of Interstate 44, and west of Interstate 270.

Interstate 270 bisects the CDP's southern node.

The community is bounded by the Mississippi River to the east, the Missouri River to the north, Highway 367 to the west, and Interstate 270 to the south.

Highways that pass through or adjacent to Worthington include Interstate 270, United States Route 23, Ohio State Route 161, and Ohio State Route 315.

However, the construction of Interstate 270 facilitated a population boom, spearheaded by the acquisition of major corporate headquarters such as Ashland Inc and Wendy's International.

In addition to Interstate 270, U. S. Highway 33, State Route 161, and State Route 745 pass through the city.

Today, Westerville borders Interstate 71 and Interstate 270 ( the Columbus Outerbelt ), expressways that connect it with Columbus and other suburbs.

The freeway begins at Interstate 270 in western St. Louis County and currently ends at Missouri Route 94 just to the west of Harvester Road.

* Districting in FPTP systems, The unusual " earmuff " shape of the 4th Congressional District of Illinois connects two Hispanic neighborhoods while remaining contiguous by narrowly tracing Interstate 294.

Main roads are Illinois Route 50, Interstate 57, Wilmington-Peotone Road, Rathje Road, and Joliet Road.

It runs diagonally from Interstate 57 ( 10 miles south of Marion, Illinois ) to Chattanooga, Tennessee, at Interstate 75.

Interstate 57 ( I-57 ) is an Interstate Highway in Missouri and Illinois that parallels the old Illinois Central rail line for much of its route.

It goes from Sikeston, Missouri, at Interstate 55 to Chicago, Illinois, at Interstate 94.

In the state of Missouri, Interstate 57 runs northbound from Sikeston to the Cairo I-57 Bridge over the Mississippi River south of Cairo, Illinois.

In the state of Illinois, Interstate 57 runs from the bridge over the Mississippi River north to Chicago.

I-57 is the longest Interstate Highway in Illinois.

Its route follows essentially the earlier route of US 51 in southernmost Illinois ( US 51 has been diverted to I-57 where I-57 has always been close to old US 51 between Future City and Dongola ) before taking a northeastward diagonal to Illinois 37, which remains intact as a town-to-town through route, past its interchange with Interstate 24 ( the northwestern terminus of Interstate 24 ) near Pulleys Mill and a short duplex with Interstate 64 near Mount Vernon north to Effingham, where it has a short concurrence with Interstate 70.

At Kankakee it heads northward largely parallel to the now decommissioned route of old US 54 ( since renumbered largely as Illinois 50 ) into greater Chicago, meeting Interstate 80 in Chicago suburbs and feeding Interstate 94 on Chicago's South Side.

Interstate 57 currently does not have an intersection with Interstate 294 ( Tri-State Tollway ) in northeastern Illinois, though one is planned.

* 2007 – Winter storms cause the Chehalis River to flood many cities in Lewis County, Washington, also closing a 20-mile portion of Interstate 5 for several days.

* In 2007, the former Troup – Howell bridge which carried Interstate 490 over the Genesee River was redesigned and renamed the Frederick Douglass – Susan B. Anthony Memorial Bridge.

In the 1985 World Series against the cross-state St. Louis Cardinals ( nicknamed the " I-70 Series " because the two teams are both located in the state of Missouri and connected by Interstate 70 ), the Royals again fell behind 3 – 1.

The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Interstate 580 which connects Marin and Contra Costa counties, the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge on Interstate 80 which connects Alameda and San Francisco counties, the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge on Highway 92 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties and the Dumbarton Bridge on Highway 84 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties.

* May 14 – Bus collision near Carrollton, Kentucky: A drunk driver going the wrong way on Interstate 71, hits a converted school bus carrying a church youth group from Radcliff, Kentucky.

* February 4 – The Interstate Commerce Act of 1887, as passed by the 49th United States Congress, is signed into law by President Grover Cleveland.

As of 2012 the Interstate 95 in Virginia | I-95 / Interstate 395 ( District of Columbia – Virginia ) | I-395 HOV facility operates as a two-lane barrier-separated reversible lane | reversible HOV 3 + facility ( center lanes ) with access through elevated on-and off-ramps.

Interstate 25 is the main north – south expressway through Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico.

Interstate 65 is the primary north – south freeway through the city leading between Birmingham and Huntsville to the north and Mobile to the south.

Montgomery is the southern terminus of Interstate 85, another north – south freeway ( though running east – west in the city ), which leads northeast to Atlanta.

Though U. S. Route 101 remains a major coastal north – south link along the Pacific coast north of San Francisco, it has been replaced in overall importance for transport through the West Coast states by Interstate 5, which is more modern in its physical design, goes through more major cities, and has more direct routing due to significantly easier geography over much of the route.

The similar but much larger Amherst – Northampton area of western Massachusetts is also a favorite hangout but is almost an hour away down Interstate 91.

Murdo Mackenzie ( April 24, 1850 near Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland – May 30, 1939 in Denver, Colorado ) was twice ( 1891-1901 and 1922-1937 ) manager of the Scots-owned Matador Land and Cattle Company, and founding president of the American Stock Growers Association, for whom he testified before congress and the Interstate Commerce Commission.

* Interstate 878 is an unsigned designation for part of New York State Route 878, a short east – west freeway on the north edge of Kennedy Airport.

On 14 November 1963, during the bicentennial of the Mason – Dixon Line, U. S. President John F. Kennedy opened a newly completed section of Interstate 95 where it crossed the Maryland-Delaware border.

Interstate 20 ( I ‑ 20 ) is a major east – west Interstate Highway in the Southern United States.
