After the last Tudor Richmond, Ludovic Stewart, 2nd Duke of Lennox became magnate here.

The first creation came in the Peerage of England in 1623 in favour of Ludovic Stewart, 2nd Duke of Lennox.

On 14 November 1583, after the death of Esmé Stewart, Ludovic returned from France and was taken to meet James VI at Kinneil House.

In January 1658, Charles Stewart went into exile in France, and took up his residence in the house of his uncle, Ludovic, seigneur d ' Aubigny.

In 1603 James I granted it to his relative Ludovic, Duke of Lennox.

Ludovic Stuart, second Duke of Lennox ( see Lennox ( district )) ( 1574 – 1624 ), who also held other titles in the peerage of Scotland, was created Earl of Richmond in 1613 and Duke of Richmond in 1623 as a member of the Lennox line ( not unlike King James himself ) in the House of Stuart.

However, the influence of Harry J. Anslinger and his Canadian counterpart Charles Henry Ludovic Sharman, both narcotics control officials, could be seen in the decision to allow the Commission to select somemembers ( thus allowing law enforcement officials to be appointed to the Supervisory Body ).

In his book Pursuit: The Chase and Sinking of the " Bismarck ", the author Ludovic Kennedy describes an incident that allegedly took place below the Denmark Strait during 1941, following the sinking of the Hood.

* Jacques Offenbach, Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy's 1864 operetta La Belle Hélène tells a droll version of the seduction of Helen by Paris, who is the lead male role.

" Among those he recruited at short notice was Ludovic Halévy, the nephew of Offenbach's early mentor Fromental Halévy.

Ludovic was a respectable civil servant with a passion for the theatre and a gift for dialogue and verse.

With a text translated and adapted by Léon Battu and Ludovic Halévy, he presented it during the Mozart centenary celebrations in May 1856 as L ' impresario ; it was popular with the public and also greatly enhanced the critical and social standing of the Bouffes-Parisiens.

Adolphe Bizet led the mourners, who included Gounod, Thomas, Ludovic Halévy, Léon Halévy and Massenet.

He taught himself the instrument, and formed a quartet at the school in 1936 that included the future journalist Ludovic Kennedy on drums.
