In Turin on 29 September 1781 ( by proxy ) and again in Dresden on 24 October 1781 ( in person ), Anton married firstly with the Princess Caroline of Savoy ( Maria Carolina Antonietta Adelaida ), daughter of the King Victor Amadeus III of Sardinia and Maria Antonietta of Spain.

This was particularly evident in her relationship with her older sister, Maria Carolina: they were the two youngest girls, and shared the same governesses, first Countess Brandeis, then Countess Lerchenfeld, until 1767 ; Carolina once described her sister as someone she " loved extraordinarily ".

Maria Theresa and her husband, Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor, had sixteen children, including Queen Marie Antoinette of France, Queen Maria Carolina of Naples, Duchess Maria Amalia of Parma and two Holy Roman Emperors, Joseph II and Leopold II.

# Anton of Saxony ( 27 December 1755-6 June 1836 ) married Maria Carolina of Savoy no issue ; married Maria Theresa of Austria no surviving issue.

His fourth child, Anna Maria, married Thomas Green Clemson, founder of Clemson University in South Carolina.

She was also a maternal granddaughter of Queen Maria Carolina of Naples, Marie Antoinette's favourite sister.

Marie Louise was influenced by her grandmother Maria Carolina, who despised the French Revolution which ultimately caused the death of her sister, Marie Antoinette.

She met her grandmother, Maria Carolina, who disapproved of her deserting her husband.

In 1809, Louis Philippe married Princess Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily, daughter of King Ferdinand IV of Naples and Maria Carolina of Austria.

His paternal grandparents were King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and Queen Maria Carolina of Austria.

On 29 November 1879 at the Basilica of Atocha in Madrid, Alfonso married a much more distant relative, Maria Christina of Austria, daughter of Archduke Karl Ferdinand of Austria and of his wife Archduchess Elisabeth of Austria.

His mother, Maria Christina of Austria, was appointed regent during his minority.

* 1713 – With no living male heirs, Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor, issues the Pragmatic Sanction of 1713 to ensure that Habsburg lands and the Austrian throne would be inherited by his daughter, Maria Theresa of Austria ( not actually born until 1717 ).

Archduke Charles of Austria, Duke of Teschen (, also known as Karl von Österreich-Teschen ) ( Full name: Karl Ludwig Johann Josef Lorenz of Austria ) ( 5 September 1771 – 30 April 1847 ) was an Austrian field-marshal, the third son of emperor Leopold II and his wife Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain.

Albert Frederick was married in 1573 to Marie Eleonore of Cleves, a daughter of Wilhelm, Duke of Jülich-Cleves-Berg and Archduchess Maria of Austria ( 1531 – 1581 ).

In Florence on 8 September 1787 ( by proxy ) and again in Dresden on 18 October 1787 ( in person ), Anton married a second time with the Archduchess Maria Theresia of Austria ( Maria Theresia Josephe Charlotte Johanna ), daughter of the Grand Duke Leopold I of Tuscany, later Emperor Leopold II.

Empress Maria Theresa of Austria was supported by the Croatians in the War of Austrian Succession of 1741 – 1748 and subsequently made significant contributions to Croatian matters.

The education of career officers is conducted at the Maria Theresia Military Academy at Wiener Neustadt, thirty kilometers south of Vienna, which was founded in 1752.

With the consent of Emperor Maximilian II, the Promnitz dynasty and their Schaffgotsch successors ruled the Duchy of Bielsko as a Bohemian state country ; acquired by the Austrian chancellor Count Friedrich Wilhelm von Haugwitz in 1752, the ducal status was finally confirmed by Empress Maria Theresa in 1754.

In March 1752, Maria married the 6th Earl of Coventry and became the Countess of Coventry.

Vasili Feodorovich Saltykov was not a count although a lot of publications have decided to make him one ; his wife, whom he married in 1724, was the Princess Maria Alexeievna Galitzina ( January 1, 1701 – October 14, 1752 ), daughter of Prince Alexei Borisovich Galitzine.

The zoo was constructed in 1752 next to Schloss Schönbrunn by Adrian van Stekhoven at the order of the Holy Roman Emperor Francis I, husband of Maria Theresia, to serve as an imperial menagerie.

Maria Carolina of Austria (; ; 13 August 1752 – 8 September 1814 ) was Queen of Naples and Sicily as the wife of King Ferdinand IV & III.

Born on 13 August 1752 at the Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna, Maria Carolina was the thirteenth and tenth surviving child of Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Theresa of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia and ruler of the Habsburg dominions.

In 1784, she gave birth to an illegitimate daughter, Maria Josepha, whose father, canon Dr. Theodor Franz de Paula Maria Baron von Reibeld ( 1752 – 1807 ), provided generously for mother and child.
