Luba-Kasai ( also called Luba-Lulua, Western Luba, Kasai, Luva, and Tshiluba ) is a Bantu language spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where it is a national language, along with Lingala, Swahili, and Kikongo.

South Kasai was a secessionist region in the area of south central Republic of the Congo ( Léopoldville ) during the early 1960s.

They had divided the Congo into six provinces -- Leopoldville, Kasai, Kivu, Katanga, Equator and Eastern -- unfortunately with little regard for ethnic groupings.
