* Acts of terrorism.

In legal terms, nuclear terrorism is an offense committed if a person unlawfully and intentionally “ uses in any way radioactive material … with the intent to cause death or serious bodily injury ; or with the intent to cause substantial damage to property or to the environment ; or with the intent to compel a natural or legal person, an international organization or a State to do or refrain from doing an act ”, according to the 2005 United Nations International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism.

Prior to this, terrorism was defined in an Act as a footnote, such as Reinsurance ( Acts of Terrorism ) Act 1993 ( c. 18 ) section 2 ( 2 ):

As in previous Terrorism Acts, such as the Prevention of Terrorism ( Temporary Provisions ) Act 1989, the Home Secretary had the power to maintain a list of " proscribed groups " that he believes are " concerned in terrorism ".

This legislation came into effect December 12, 2006 and the PPSC has control of criminal prosecutions in the three northern territories, and also conducts prosecutions for offences under federal Acts ( including offences relating to drug-dealing, organized crime, terrorism, and various regulatory matters ).

The Prevention of Terrorism Acts were a series of Acts of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1974 to 1989 that conferred emergency powers upon police forces where they suspected terrorism.

The 2005 United Nations International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism defines the crime of nuclear terrorism as follows:

Some council-member states proposed an additional protocol to the Council of Europe Cybercrime Convention, addressing materials and " acts of racist or xenophobic nature committed through computer networks "; it was negotiated from late 2001 to early 2002, and, on 7 November 2002, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers adopted the protocol's final text titled Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cyber-crime, Concerning the Criminalisation of Acts of a Racist and Xenophobic Nature Committed through Computer Systems, (" Protocol ").

Acts of common law larceny cannot be committed against intangible things, such as love or affection, identity ( identity theft is a type of fraud ), or intellectual property, such as information and ideas.

Acts performed outside the United Kingdom have to constitute an offence in the country where they are committed, in order to constitute an offence under this Act.

The main power is to detain anyone who has committed, or who the officer has reasonable grounds to suspect has committed, any offence under the Customs and Excise Acts ..

Officers may detain any person who has committed, or whom there are reasonable grounds to suspect of having committed, any offence for which he is liable to be detained under the customs and excise Acts at any time within 20 years from the date of the commission of the offence.

Acts that he finds reprehensible when committed by other Franks, when practiced by Clovis to spread the authority of the Catholic Church, are saintly.

It was after the creation of the third enforcement act that trials began to be conducted, and people were convicted for the crimes they had committed against the Enforcement Acts.

These Acts provided the courts with powers to confiscate proceeds of crime where an offence had been committed other than drug trafficking offences, in specified circumstances.

The question regarding the genre of Acts is complicated by the fact that it was written by the same author as the Gospel of Luke.

Fitzmyer states that by looking at the prefaces of Luke and Acts together it can be seen “ that Luke-Acts purports to be basically ‘ a work of edification ’.”

Furthermore, when on trial, the church responds to the authorities by professing the name of Jesus Christ ( Acts 4: 20, 28-29 ; 5: 29-32 ).

Representing a traditional view, however, some prominent scholars and historians view the book of Acts as being quite accurate and corroborated by archaeology, while agreeing with the Pauline epistles.

Guthrie also saw traces of Acts in Polycarp's letter to the Philippians ( written between 110-140 ) and one letter by Ignatius († about 117 ) and thought that Acts probably was current in Antioch and Smyrna not later than c. 115, and perhaps in Rome as early as c. 96.

According to Richard I. Pervo, " Townsend's methodologically adventurous but ultimately cautious essay is another valuable lesson in the danger of establishing the date of Acts – or any work – by arguing for the earliest possible time of origin.

Many believe this group of texts comes from the original Book of Acts by looking at the Byzantine text for the whole of the New Testament.

The book of Acts can also be broken down by the major characters of the book.

The Alien and Sedition Acts were four bills passed in 1798 by the Federalists in the 5th United States Congress in the aftermath of the French Revolution and during an undeclared naval war with Britain and France, later known as the Quasi-War.

A 6th-century Greek and Latin manuscript of Acts that is believed to have been used by Bede survives and is now in the Bodleian Library ; it is known as the Codex Laudianus.

In Acts 11: 30 and, we see a collegiate system of government in Jerusalem though headed by James, according to tradition the first bishop of the city.

The Res Gestae Divi Augusti (" Acts of the divine Augustus "), a self-congratulatory inscription commissioned by Augustus to list his achievements, states that he received an embassy from the Bastarnae seeking a treaty of friendship.

Barnabas is not mentioned again by Luke in the Acts of the Apostles.

This contrasts with the Acts and Omissions Doctrine, which is upheld by some medical ethicists and some religions: it asserts there is a significant moral distinction between acts and deliberate non-actions which lead to the same outcome.

Acts of formal recognition, such as the erection of an altar over the saint's tomb or transferring the saint's relics to a church, were preceded by formal inquiries into the sanctity of the person's life and the miracles attributed to that person's intercession.

Hence, all Acts include the clause: " Be it enacted by the Queen's ( King's ) most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ...".

There was a question among the disciples whether receiving the Holy Spirit through proselytization would be restricted to Israelites or whether it would include the gentiles ( the Greco-Roman population of the Roman Empire ), as in Acts 10: 34 – 47:

Preachers of the early church include Peter ( see especially Acts 2: 14b – 36 ), Stephen ( see Acts 7: 1b – 53 ), Tertullian, John Chrysostom, Gregory Nazianzus.

Major British constitutional documents include ; Magna Carta ( foundation of the " great writ " Habeas corpus — safeguarding individual freedom against arbitrary state action ), the Bill of Rights 1689 ( one provision granting freedom of speech in Parliament ), Petition of Right, Habeas Corpus Act 1679 and Parliament Acts 1911 and 1949.

Exceptions include the Welsh Language Acts 1967 and 1993 and also the Government of Wales Act 1998, plus Measures of the National Assembly for Wales passed since the Government of Wales Act 2006, which apply in Wales but not in England.

Acts who have performed there in the past include Super Furry Animals, Feeder Love, Ray Davies, Freddie Starr and Sweet.
