Daughter of Sigmund Freud, Anna Freud became an influential psychoanalytic theorist in the UK after she left Austria in 1938 to escape the Nazis.

Anna Freud reported the successful treatment of homosexuals as neurotics in a series of unpublished lectures.

Anna Freud in 1951 published “ Clinical Observations on the Treatment of Male Homosexuality ” in Psychoanalytic Quarterly and “ Homosexuality ” in the American Psychoanalytic Association Bulletin.

During this time, he befriended the psychoanalyst Kurt Eissler and became acquainted with Sigmund Freud's daughter Anna Freud.
