* Contrary to the popular belief that Bruce Wayne ( the real name of the superhero character Batman ) was named after John Wayne, comic book writer Bill Finger named Batman's alter ego after Robert the Bruce and Anthony Wayne.

In July, 1939, just two issues after the characters ' debut by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, Fox wrote the first of his several tales of the Batman, introducing an early villain in " The Batman Meets Doctor Death ".

Grant Morrison, writer of Superman and Batman comic books, has moved from hometown Glasgow to a renovated mansion just outside of Dunoon, and spends part of the year in the town, and part in Los Angeles.

Alvin Schwartz ( November 17, 1916 – October 28, 2011 ) was an American comic-book writer best known for his Batman and Superman stories.

In 1989, he illustrated the Batman graphic novel, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, with writer Grant Morrison.

Although he made only two appearances in the Golden Age of Comic Books, the character was revived during the Silver Age of Comic Books by writer Gardner Fox and artist Sheldon Moldoff in the pages of Batman # 189 ( Feb 1967 ) and has since become a staple Batman villain.

In Detective Comics # 822, the first of a series of issues written by veteran Batman writer Paul Dini, the Riddler returns, having spent much of the previous year in a coma due to brain damage after being struck in the head by Shining Knight.

At this point, Riddler announces that Batman is en route to their very location, something both Conundrum and the writer have difficulty believing.

Starlin became the writer of Batman and one of his first storylines for the title was " Ten Nights of The Beast " in issues # 417-420 ( March-June 1988 ) which introduced the KGBeast.

In Batman and the Outsiders # 5, it is revealed ( after appearing unknown in the previous two issues ) that Ralph and Sue have gained or discovered the ability to possess human bodies, like the ability of Boston Brand, AKA Deadman.

Ralph " Rags " Morales is an American comic book artist known for his work on various books for DC Comics, including Identity Crisis, Countdown to Infinite Crisis, Batman Confidential, and The New 52 reboot of then Superman-centric Action Comics.

Ralph Bundy, a CIA contact, tells Batman to keep away from the Joker since it could start a diplomatic incident, which the government would rather avoid.

Comic book characters who have appeared in Nighthawks-inspired diners include the Human Torch in an Alex Ross panel in the graphic novel Marvels, Batman's Commissioner Gordon ( in Batman: Year One, Gordon appears in a diner, the name of which is HOPPER ), Spider Jerusalem, X-Factor and The Tick.

Other comic book writing includes the award-winning Earth X trilogy with Alex Ross for Marvel Comics, as well as Avengers, X-Men, Star Wars, The Matrix Comics, Micronauts, Galactic, and Batman, and he has since introduced two new comic book formats.

However, this reason was abandoned almost as quickly as it was introduced, since it had various flaws ( such as stories where Batman would disguise himself as Clark Kent, among others ).

In addition to comics, it was designed for DC properties in other media, which was used for movies since Batman Begins, Superman Returns, and the TV series Smallville, Justice League Unlimited and The Batman, as well as for collectibles and other merchandise.

In this latter Lewis was sometimes featured with Superman, Batman, and various other DC heroes and villains.

Superman took possession of the ring and entrusted it to Batman, stating that he was the only person he could trust with the ability to kill him if necessary ; Batman subsequently kept the ring available whenever circumstances required him and Superman to work together.

Ironically, Batman ultimately learns that the entire debacle was the fault of Luthor alone as he attempted to take control of Gotham by forging deeds for the land in his name, which results in Bruce Wayne severing all commercial ties between the U. S. government and his company, Wayne Enterprises, in protest of Luthor's election as President.

This was predicated by an attempt on Luthor's part to link Superman to a kryptonite asteroid that is hurtling toward Earth, claiming that he had ' evidence '- which he declined to share while claiming that it would make the public laud his actions if they knew it-that the asteroid was being drawn to Earth by Superman, offering a billion dollar reward for Superman's capture that pitted Superman and Batman against an army of villains, all of whom they defeated.

Luthor even attempted to send a team of heroes after them under the leadership of Captain Atom-the team consisting of Major Force, Black Lightning, Power Girl, Starfire, Katana and Green Lantern, but this plan failed when Katana and Power Girl quickly sided with Superman and Batman and Major Force was apparently killed, Power Girl noting that Luthor had assumed in his arrogance that the heroes would obey him simply because he was President.
