Adrian Sherwood ( born 1958, London, England ) is an English record producer, best known for his work with dub music as well as for remixing a number of popular acts such as Coldcut, Depeche Mode, The Woodentops, Primal Scream, Pop Will Eat Itself, Sinéad O ' Connor, and Skinny Puppy.

The music used for all three pieces was composed by Coldcut, with " Revolution ' 08 " featuring a remix by the Qemists.

It then began to influence popular music in Europe, with songs such as " House Nation " by House Master Boyz and the Rude Boy Of House ( 1987 ) and " Doctorin ' The House " by Coldcut ( 1988 ) in the pop charts.

Inspired by a visit to Japan, Black & More ( Coldcut ) primarily created Ninja Tune in 1990 to act as a vehicle by which they could release music of a more underground nature, free from the restraints placed on artists by major labels ( the same restraints that were put on them via their brief stints with Arista and Big Life ).

Other worldwide hits from her solo debut album Affection include " This Is the Right Time " ( featuring a house music influence production by Coldcut with Mark Saunders ), " Live Together ", " What Did I Do to You " and " You Can't Deny It ".

Matt Black ( real name Matthew Cohn ) is a British DJ and one half of music duo Coldcut ( along with Jonathan More ).

The music is similar to Coldcut and has an electro infused sound that reviewer Bob Bannister terms a combination of “ South Bronx hip hop the avant-Eurodisco sound of Kraftwerk .” The album was created over a two year period on two 100 MHz Macs that were barely switched off during the production ; one 30 second siren sound at the beginning of the track Machine Toy took three days to render.

During the year, the duo adopted the name Coldcut and set up a record label called Ahead of Our Time to release the single " Beats + Pieces " ( one of the formats also included " That Greedy Beat ").

* During September 1996, Coldcut ( a duo of scratch / mix djs from south London ) released a scratch version of the main theme, included on the track " More Beats + Pieces ", from their album Let Us Play !.

* Other bands have covered or reinterpreted the Doctor Who theme, such as DJ duo Coldcut, the electronica band Orbital, a reggae version by Dr. Pablo and Dub Syndicate, New Zealand band Blam Blam Blam, the Australian string ensemble Fourplay, disco act Mankind and UK art rock band Traffic Experiment.

Coldcut also collaborated with video mashup artist TV Sheriff and NomIg., to produce two audiovisual pieces " World of Evil " ( 2004 ) and " Revolution ' 08 " ( 2008 ), both composed of footage from the United States presidential elections of the respective years.

The collection was composed of Nina Simone classics and included remixes by Coldcut, Francios K, Chris Coco and Tony Humphries.

Ninja Tune is a British independent record label started by DJs Matt Black and Jonathan More, better known as Coldcut and managed by Peter Quicke.

In the early days the most prominent DJ's were Matt Black of Coldcut, Tom Middleton of Global Communication and Mixmaster Morris, also known as the Irresistible Force.

They passed their recordings on to Ninja Tune bosses Matt Black and Jonathan More of Coldcut and were signed shortly thereafter.

She also trained as a classical singer, and has recently performed as part of Crass Agenda ( renamed Last Amendment as of 2005 ) along with Penny Rimbaud, Matt Black ( of Coldcut ), Christine Tobin, Julian Siegel, Ingrid Laubrock, Nabil Shaban, Kate Shortt and others.

They gradually took over for the original Hex group which consisted of graphic design artists Robert Pepperell and Miles Visman and Coldcut members Matt Black and Jonathan More.

He has collaborated with artists such as Company Flow, Rob Sonic, Saul Williams, U-God, Busdriver, Blue Sky Black Death, Daedelus, Jackson and his Computer Band, Coldcut, DJ Spooky among others.

More recently, the British remix DJ's Coldcut released their own version in 1993.

The show is hosted by Jon More ( Coldcut ) and he is often joined by DK, DJ Food and rolling guests.

First by Coldcut in 1988 on the Blondie / Debbie Harry remix compilation Once More into the Bleach and the second time in 1995 by Pete Arden and Vinny Vero on the album Remixed Remade Remodeled-The Remix Project ( UK edition: Beautiful-The Remix Album ).

After it proved popular in the clubs, this Coldcut " Seven Minutes of Madness " remix ended up being promoted as the single in the UK.

The next Coldcut single, released in February 1988, was " Doctorin ' the House ", featuring singer Yazz.

Coldcut and Mark Saunders produced her debut solo single " This Is the Right Time " which became another UK Top 20 hit in August as well as reaching # 21 on the U. S. Billboard Hot 100 the following year.

After their success with Lisa Stansfield, her label Arista offered Coldcut a deal.

The name Coldcut however stayed with Arista so there were no official Coldcut releases for the next three years.

In February 1997, with the legal right to the Coldcut name back, they released a double pack single " Atomic Moog 2000 " / " Boot the System ", the first Coldcut release on Ninja Tune.

Coldcut returned with the single " Everything Is Under Control " at the end of 2005, followed in 2006 by their fifth studio album Sound Mirrors.

In 2008, Coldcut remixed " Ourselves ", a Japanese # 1 hit from the single "&" by Ayumi Hamasaki.

These pieces were continuations of the original Coldcut audiovisual piece " Revolution " ( 2005 ) which used samples of the UK political elections as source footage.

In March 2007, together with Coldcut, he organised a tribute show to the writer and philosopher Robert Anton Wilson, which they performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Pre-dating Ninja Tune is the radio show Solid Steel, which Coldcut set up in 1988.

A tribute show to Wilson, organized by Coldcut and Mixmaster Morris and performed in London as a part of the " Ether 07 Festival " held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on March 18, 2007, also included Ken Campbell, Bill Drummond and Alan Moore.

Together with Coldcut he organised a huge Robert Anton Wilson Memorial Show at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on 18 March 2007.

Smith has also appeared as a guest vocalist for Edwyn Collins, Elastica, Gorillaz, Long Fin Killie, Mouse on Mars, Coldcut, and Ghostigital.
