The Plymouth Meeting Historic District, Alan West Corson Homestead, Plymouth Friends Meetinghouse, and Hovenden House, Barn and Abolition Hall are listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Born at The Nunnery, Douglas in the Isle of Man, the youngest son of Lieutenant Colonel John Taubman Goldie-Taubman, Speaker of the House of Keys, by his second wife Caroline Everina, daughter of John Eykyn Hovenden, a barrister of Hemingford Grey, Huntingdonshire.

A Pennsylvania state historical marker in Plymouth Meeting interprets Abolition Hall and Hovenden.

Queen Anne also authorized a major expedition against Quebec City in 1711 ; this expedition, led by Admiral Hovenden Walker, was a complete disaster.

Thomas Hovenden ( December 28, 1840 – August 14, 1895 ), was an Irish-American artist and teacher.

Hovenden was born in Dunmanway, Co. Cork, Ireland.

Hovenden was killed at the age of 54, along with a ten-year old girl, by a railroad locomotive at a crossing near his home in Plymouth Meeting.

Sir Hovenden Walker ( 1656 or 1666 – 1725 or 1728 ) was a British naval officer noted for having led an abortive 1711 expedition against Quebec City, then the capital of New France.

Four years after Leichhardt's disappearance the Government of New South Wales sent out a search expedition under Hovenden Hely.

The Common Swift ( Apus apus ) is a medium-sized bird, superficially similar to the Barn Swallow or House Martin but somewhat larger.

* 1828 William Corder was arrested on Wednesday April 23 at Everley Grove House, Ealing Lane in Brentford, for the notorious Red Barn Murder.

By 1794 Highbury consisted of Highbury House and Highbury Hill House, Highbury Barn and the gated terraces of Highbury Terrace and Highbury Place, which had been built on land leased by John Dawes.

Founded in 1958 as the Northford Historical Institute, the society runs four historic buildings in town: the Reynolds Beers House ( the main museum and office ), the Miller Barn, the " Little White Gas Station ", and the Little Red Schoolhouse.

Located within the town are a number of properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places including: Peter Bitley House, Thomas Bitley House, Samuel Botsford House, Esperanza, Hampstead, Uriah Hanford House, George Hays House, Ezikial Perry House, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Sill Tenant House, Abraham Wagener House, H. Allen Wagener House, Jemima Wilkinson House, and Sherman Williams House and Fruit Barn.

He was also responsible for ensuring that Wilberforce ’ s Bill on the Abolition of the Slave Trade, which had still not passed its final stages in the House of Lords when Grenville ’ s ministry fell, would not " fall between the two ministries " and be rejected in a snap division.

Originally used in Baker House to signify the Ivy League university tradition, on his return to Finland Aalto used it in a number of key buildings, in particular, in several of the buildings in the new Helsinki University of Technology campus ( starting in 1950 ), Säynatsalo Town Hall ( 1952 ), Helsinki Pensions Institute ( 1954 ), Helsinki House of Culture ( 1958 ), as well as in his own summer house, the so-called Experimental House in Muuratsalo ( 1957 ).

Andrew R. Cobb designed several campus buildings including: Raynor Hall Residence, 1916 ; Horton House, designed by Cobb in the Georgian style, and built by James Reid of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia was opened in 1915 as Horton Academy.

Gone are the days when the Hoffman House flourished on Madison Square, with its famous nudes by Bouguereau ; when barrooms were palaces, on nearly every corner throughout the city ; when Steve Brodie, jumping from Brooklyn Bridge, splashed the entire country with publicity ; when Bowery concert halls dispensed schooners of beer for a nickel, with a stage show thrown in ; when Theis's Music Hall still resounded on 14th Street with its great mechanical organ, the wonder of its day, a place of beauty, with fine paintings and free company and the frankest of female life.

Work was also progressing on the northern half of the West Wing ( The Egyptian Sculpture Gallery ) 1826 – 1831, with Montagu House demolished in 1842 to make room for the final part of the West Wing, completed in 1846, and the South Wing with its great colonnade, initiated in 1843 and completed in 1847, when the Front Hall and Great Staircase were opened to the public.

Gate House is one of the four Upper Houses of the Burwash Hall residence.

Not only is Mr. Frelinghuysen a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, but he is the grandson of the man who was instrumental in opening relations between the United States and Korea, Frederick T. Frelinghuysen, Secretary of State in the administration of Chester A. Arthur.

It was called Kent House.

But this situation of Kent House was more subtle.
