The second is between eastern Australia and western South America.

The group includes eight genera and about 85 species distributed in the temperate zones of Europe and Asia, Malaysia, India, Madagascar, Africa and the Pacific, from Australia and New Zealand to South America.

West Indies defeated England twice in the mid-1960s and South Africa, in two series before they were banned for apartheid, completely outplayed Australia 3 – 1 and 4 – 0.

Over the last few decades, the term ' Third World ' has been used interchangeably with the Global South and Developing Countries to describe poorer countries that have struggled to attain steady economic development.
