Since the Whitlam Government, the ALP has moved towards Social Democratic and Third Way ideals which are found among many of the ALP's Right Faction members.

The Third Whitlam Ministry was the fiftieth Australian Commonwealth ministry, and ran from 12 June 1974 to 11 November 1975.

Markievicz served as Minister for Labour from April 1919 to January 1922, in the Second Ministry and the Third Ministry of the Dáil.

After another failed attempt, on August 6, 1880 the Emperor, under proposals of Count Loris-Melikov, created the Department of State Police under Ministry of the Interior ( MVD ) and transferred both Special Corps of Gendarmes and Third Section of the Imperial Chancellery to the new body ; the Chief of Gendarmes was merged with the Minister and Commander of the Corps was assigned Deputy of the Minister.
