It also attracted a wider crowd of mostly younger fans, some of whom occasionally performed with the group, including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Geoff Bradford, Rod Stewart, John Mayall and Jimmy Page.

In 1966, Moon worked with Yardbirds guitarist Jeff Beck, session man Nicky Hopkins, and future Led Zeppelin members Page and John Paul Jones to record an instrumental, " Beck's Bolero ", released as a single-double later that year.

Formed as the New Yardbirds in 1968, the band consisted of guitarist Jimmy Page, singer Robert Plant, bassist / keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham.

The group never formed, although Page, Beck and Moon did record a song together in 1966, " Beck's Bolero ", in a session that also included bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones.

The King of Sweden presented the prize to Plant, Page, and Jones, along with John Bonham's daughter, in Stockholm in May 2006.

Page, Jones and Jason Bonham were reported to be willing to tour, and to be working on material for a new Led Zeppelin project.

In the later stages of the band's career, Page took a back seat in composition and Jones became increasingly important in producing music, often composed on the keyboard.

The three surviving members ( Page, Plant, and Jones ) were named as 2012 recipients of Kennedy Center Honors.

For their three New York performances, the band members wore exactly the same clothes to facilitate seamless editing of the film, except for John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page who wore different sets of attire on some of the nights, which created continuity problems.

Page, Plant and Jones, as well as John Bonham's son Jason, closed the event.

" As soon as I heard John Bonham play ", recalled Jones, " I knew this was going to be great ... We locked together as a team immediately ".

At 1: 45 pm the next day Benji LeFevre ( Led Zeppelin's new tour manager ) and John Paul Jones found Bonham dead.

Jones and Bonham then added to the material, in rehearsal or in the studio, as a song was developed.

As Led Zeppelin's rhythm section-mate with drummer John Bonham, Jones shared an appreciation for funk and soul rhythmic grooves which strengthened and enhanced their musical affinity.

In 1995, Led Zeppelin were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Plant performed at the induction show with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, Jason Bonham, Neil Young, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, performing spirited versions of " Bring It On Home ", " Honeybee ", and " When the Levee Breaks ".

Aside from the obvious — Keith Moon, John Bonham, Ian Paice — I would have to say Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, any of the jazz greats — Gene Krupa, those people.

In 1969 Bonham appeared on The Family Dogg's A Way of Life, with Page and Jones.

John Paul Jones, who formed a very tight musical partnership with him as Led Zeppelin's power rhythm section, stated that Bonham was a " bass player's dream ".

On July 25, 2004, in Santa Barbara, California at Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort, Jones appeared at a benefit show for Muscular Dystrophy with a brand new version of Foreigner that included: Jeff Jacobs, Thom Gimbel, former Dokken bass player Jeff Pilson, current Black Country Communion drummer Jason Bonham ( son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who had also played with the brief Led Zeppelin reunions and his own band Bonham ) and Bonham singer Chaz West.
