Upper Burma (, also called Upper Myanmar ) refers to a geographic region of Burma ( Myanmar ), traditionally encompassing Mandalay and its periphery ( modern Mandalay, Sagaing, Magway Regions ), or more broadly speaking, Kachin and Shan States.

Pakokku (, ) is a town in the Magway Region in Myanmar.

It is bordered by Magway Region and Mandalay Region to the north ; Kayin State, Mon State and the Gulf of Martaban to the east ; Yangon Region to the south and Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State to the west.

It is bordered by India ’ s Nagaland and Manipur States to the north, Kachin State, Shan State, and Mandalay Region to the east, Mandalay Region and Magway Region to the south, with the Ayeyarwady River forming a greater part of its eastern and also southern boundary, and Chin State and India to the west.

Magway is situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River.

The Mya Tha Lun Pagoda, located at the north of the city, is the landmark of Magway.

Magway Division is famous for the cultivation of sesame and many kinds of nuts.

The Chin State is bordered by Rakhine State in the south, Bangladesh in south-west, Sagaing Division and Magway Division in the east, Indian state of Manipur in the north and Indian state of Mizoram in the west.

Situated on the western coast, it is bordered by Chin State in the north, Magway Region, Bago Region and Ayeyarwady Region in the east, the Bay of Bengal to the west, and the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh to the northwest.

Yenangyaung (; literally " stream of oil ") is a city in Magway Division, Myanmar, on the Irrawaddy River.

The Pyay to Nyaung-U and Myingyan railway runs through eastern Magway with connections to the capital Naypyidaw, Rangoon and Mandalay.

The capital Magway has a small non-commercial airport with air traffic for the city of Magway mostly coming in through Bagan Airport at Nyaung U some 113 km to the north along the Irrawaddy.
