But long before Mincer or Becker wrote, Marx pointed to " two disagreeably frustrating facts " with theories that equate wages or salaries with the interest on human capital.

As did Marx and Weber, more generally, Georg Simmel developed a wide-ranging approach that provided observations and insights into domination and subordination, competition, division of labor, formation of parties, representation, inner solidarity coupled with exclusiveness toward the outside, and many similar features in the state, in a religious community, in an economic association, in an art school, and in family and kinship networks ( however diverse the interests that give rise to these associations, the forms in which interests are realized may yet be identical ( Crothers, 1996 )).

If, however, we wish to understand the " deep structure " of market behavior, then we rapidly confront all the issues that Marx was concerned with.

For Marx, however, economic value is a social attribution, which expresses a social relation between people that is specific to certain historical conditions.

By contrast Marx and Engels were extremely wary of the role of what may be described as ' professional theoreticians ', however learned, who were only tenuously familiar with their theory and not tied to the struggles of the working class.

The triad is often said to have been extended and adopted by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, however, Marx referred to them in The Poverty of Philosophy as speaking Greek and " Wooden trichotomies ".

What these authors call fundamentals is however the rate of profit, which connects these empirical findings with older ideas of authors such as Wesley Mitchell, or even Karl Marx, that profits are the basic engine of the market economy.

For more power, however, he is credited with helping design in 1839 one of the earliest 4-4-0 locomotives, the " Gowan & Marx ," named after his London banker.

In Parsons ' canon, however, Vilfredo Pareto holds greater significance than either Marx or Simmel.

Marx claims however that this process, whereby capital grows in value through human activity in production, becomes obscured and hidden in the theories of economics.
